I have seen one of the psychiatrists and spoken with one on the phone. Was not impressed with either of these. The office manager would not allow me to switch to another psychiatrist at their center and would not give my message to the psychiatrist I wished to transfer to. I wanted a psychiatrist who was more interested in me getting well than taking medicine. I became addicted to Ativan, a medicine the original psychiatrist prescribed me. He did not tell me it caused dependency. Once I realized I had become dependent, he wouldn't take me off, saying I needed to take these meds for my condition (anxiety and panic). I told him the meds made it worse, because I got panicky and nervous every day as the effects wore off. he told me that was my disorder. So, I weaned myself off them. It was very difficult for about three weeks, almost hell, but I was so much better after I came off them. And then I pursued cognitive treatment of my anxiety through a psychologist and then a therapist. I am amazed how helpful that was, and so thankful I stood up to the psychiatrist. Please, be careful. Psychiatrists should respect their patients' wishes in terms of medication. I would have been a basket case now and on many types of meds if I did not have the courage to have done what I did.

Dr. Reddick helped my son and thus, helped our family. He was willing to help when everyone else thought it was too early to intervene. I know now, my son has a future. There is often a long long wait, but there is plenty to do in the waiting room, and the staff is very conversational. Gotta love Nikki! Treatment is totally worth the wait. Oh yeah! We drive 50 miles to see Dr Reddick.

Pros: Doctors knowledge

Cons: distance to the office

I've been going to see Dr. Melvin for a number of years. His knowledge of medicine and OCD treatment has been a blessing to me. Recently I've been in the Awakenings group recovery program directed by Steve Hanna for my substance abuse problem. It would be unusual to meet one person who can truly help; it is frankly a miracle to me that I have the privilege of receiving help from two gifted and compassionate people at the same clinic. The staff is warm and welcoming; one is certainly treated with respect. Eastover Psyc is stellar in my opinion and that is thanks to the people who have helped me there.

Cons: doctor, counseler

.

This institution is only interested to get your money without giving you an adequate service. Sometimes the waiting time exceeded 45 minutes. The staff were extremely busy and overloaded; sometimes giving appointments at 5:45pm. The counseler was sleepy and tired and asked irrelevent questions. Although I had mentioned to the doctor that I was not a drinker at all and drank only one beer once a year, the questionary I was given to fill up (which contained about 130 questions and for which I paid $104 to fill up) had questions which were directly relevent to alcohol dependency and totaly irrelevent to my problem. I don not recommend this place to anyone. There are other good doctors and institutions in Charlotte that can help you.

He's a great resource for medication managementon child bi-polars, OCD and ODD.
He is like a member of the family. Remember, no matter how great the Dr. YOU must be an advocate for your child, never take no for an answer.

Dr. Melvin had been a tremendous help to me. He's one of the inest medical professionals I've ever had, and I'm almost 57.

I recommend him without qualification.
