Dr Shah advised my daughter may have Roseola, for which there is no cure- yet wanted to draw blood to make sure he wasnt missing anything. He then said he wanted to give her a shot of antibiotics, which I replied,"No". He asked me why not, and I replied, "I dont want her to have antibiotics", which he replied, "Well, I do!" I tried to come up with a compromise, where I would monitor my daughters condition through the night, (this was at 530pm) and if he could re-check her in the morning. Dr Shah advised me, "If you leave this office without letting me give her the shot, I will report you to CPS". I left in tears, but feeling bullied, I reluctanly gave my 8 month old to my husband and Dr. Shah did indeed give her a shot. I am not opposed to the use of antibiotics, when they are necessary, but without having the cause to treat, giving antibiotics is irresponsible. Also, please know that when I asked, (calmly), "why do you use that antibiotic?", he replied, "why are you asking me all these questions? Do you want to be a doctor?" These quotes are verbatim. I was concerned because I had never heard of this type of antibitoic and was very nervous and wanted time to research it first, then make the best and most appropriate decision for my daughter. He did not allow me to do so, and in the midst, violated some medical ethics that I will be following up on. Do not go with the "popular" doctor like I did. If your philosophy differs from his, (I do not vaccinate either, which he despises), he is very agressive and downright hostile.
