The Hohokus Pharmacy has a great "Mom & Pop" feel to the entire place. I've only been coming here for a year yet I feel like part of the family. My wife, however, has been using this place all her life and has a very friendly relationship with everyone over here. And that's what makes this place feel like home--the staff knows everyone on a first name basis.

I really appreciate the professionalism of the staff and how attentive they are at filling your perscriptions. In the short amount of time I've been attending this place, I feel very confident with what I am purchasing--no matter how much it may cost--knowing that I don't have to worry about what I am receiving.

The store also sells lots of goodies such as candy, perfumes, greeting cards, and stuffed dools among the many pharmacutecal products readily available on the shelves. I even appreciate the fact that they are even open on Sunday, even if it's only for half the day.

I have complete faith and trust with the people that work at Hohokus Pharmacy, and glad that there are still stores like this that treat people like people.

PROS: Great friendly staff, very knowledgeable
CONS: none

This is the pharmacy my family used for years--the house in which I grew up was local and the pharmacy boasted that Mom and Pop feel of times past. A recent change in ownership has altered some of the features of the pharmacy, some of which are for the better.

The staff is friendly and gets so much repeat business that they know just about everyone on a first-name basis. The head pharmacist is intelligent and knows his business--he can give advice on supplements and warn on medication side effects. A new feature that I appreciate when I pick up my medications is that the staff includes a print out of helpful information concerning the medication I am taking. It explains when to take it, how much, what side effects there may be, what it does, etc. This handy reference sheet is excellent and contains more helpful information than what is even printed on the prescription bottle.

The current owners have dismantled a rarely used cosmetics counter and now the space feels more roomy. The carpet in that area is stained, however.

The pharmacy deals mostly with prescriptions and does have minimal bath and body products available for purchase. They have them lined up on the shelves, for example, but there is only one bottle of any particular shampoo available for purchase at the time. I suppose if you wanted two bottles you would have to ask at the counter.

There are greeting cards, candies, Beanie Babies, and a few school supplies for sale. There are a variety of vitamin supplements for sale. They are also a licensed Lottery Dealer.

Go to Ho Ho Kus pharmacy if you are tired of your prescriptions being lost, or feeling like number 1999222 in a line of nameless patrons. You will leave the store with an education and awareness concerning the medications you are taking.
