I have been a patient at Memorial Eye Care at Eldridge for 10 years and I think the doctors are very good, friendly and give good care.
Somebody posted a bad review for the place, but I have never had a bad experience with the doctors or the front desk. The doctors spend plenty of time with the patients when they do the eye exam.
My contacts have always been the correct prescription and my glasses are correct as well.

I made my appointment at the Memorial Eye Center off Eldridge and Memorial and to my disappointment the entire staff, including Dr. Amelia Holbrook, were extremely rude. From the moment I walked in, I felt as if I was being rushed and my business was not important to them. I waited several minutes at the front desk to give them my insurance information. I was "greeted" by the Dr. I handed her my paperwork and she she rudely responded, "Thank you..." as if she really wanted to say "SIT DOWN!" I asked her if there was a restroom I could use and she acted as if I was bothering her...responding with "WHAT DID YOU SAY?" Then, my experience with the technician (Mohawk included) was very unpleasant. He did not greet me at all and when HE got my file confused with another patient, he acted as if I didn't know what I was talking about. When I went into the exam room, I went to the spare chair so I could check my phone. The Dr. walked in and in a very condescending voice she said "You need to sit in the exam chair..." I was STILL polite and asked her how she was doing. The entire exam lasted MAYBE 5 minutes and I was very uncomfortable the entire time. Then, I went out to get my trial pair of contacts. The women came over to me and threw them on the table just saying "right and left". I was left by myself without her help. I went up to pay and I asked if I was being charged for eye dilation because I elected to get that option. She just said, "nah". After she told me the price, I asked what all that covered. She told me to "come here" and pointed to her file she had lying on the desk. I then asked her why the doctor didn't perform the exam I wanted. She asked me "You know it's not covered under insurance? You would have to pay for it..." She was moving quickly as if she wanted to get me out of the door. My husband asked if they were in a hurry because everyone was being so rude like they did not want us to be there. She didn't try to offer up any apology but snapped back with "Do you want the doctor to dilate your eyes?!" There was one lady that was nice and helpful. I wish I had gotten her name...she needs to get out of that place! When we went to the car, we could see the lady at the front desk shaking her head back and forth as if she was complaining about us. We decided to go back in and get our money back on the contacts we purchased because we were so dissatisfied with the service. She STILL had no apology. I will NEVER return to this office and I hope anyone who reads this doesn't waste their time either.

I had a very disappointing experience when I visited Memorial Eye Ctr on Gessner. This business advertises through mailouts and I received a coupon thinking I would be able to use it. Once there, none of the coupons applied and I ended up paying 2 1/2 more times what I expected to pay. Buyer beware.

After cataract surgery on my right eye, I purchased a replacement lens for that eye at this store. After 10 days I picked up my glasses and they were very blurry but I got the usual "It will take you a while to get used to them" statement from the man waiting on me. On the way home, I noticed I could see better while driving with my glasses off. After getting home, I examined the glasses to find the the left lens had been replaced instead of the right. I returned and asked them to put it on a rush order as I was wearing old glasses and my eyes were jumping and hurting. After 10 days I called and was told that they were being held up due to an error. Finally after two weeks my glasses were ready. I went to pick them up and asked if both lens had been checked for accuracy due to my prior experience. The lady took them in the back, was there for a long time, then appeared without my glasses and asked if I had the old left lens that had been taken out. She said they would need it back in order to take the present left lens out and insert the old lens, which had never been stated before. I couldn't understand why if the lab made the error and since they were the same prescription. I was told that I couldn't have my glasses until I brought the lens back. Strange...they took my money over three weeks ago and I trusted that they would produce a lens for me but they wouldn't give me my glasses and trust that I produce the old lens. Since the new right lens was made to match the tint and AR of the left lens and not the one in there previously, it is doubtful that the lens will match. I left the store without my glasses to try to take it up with the owner and Better Business Bureau. I won't ever do business here again and suggest that anyone reading this follow my advice. I must have got the rude lady as one of the previous posts states, Buyer beware of Memorial Eye Center. Their present address is 15080 Memorial Drive, corner of Eldridge and Memorial Drive. Phone number is as shown.

I was very impressed with the doctors and staff. My daughter received her first pair of glasses when she was 6 and everyone here was wonderful with her. I was impressed with the large selection of children's frames they have on hand. Other places we went to said they could order children's glasses for us but Memorial Eye Center actually a large selection of frames on hand to try on.

I recently visited this location and the older woman at the front desk was so rude that two people turned around and walked out even though they had appointments! No one was greeted with kindness by the staff but rudeness cost them more than two customers that day. Sad.

I have been a customer of Memorial Eye Center for many years. The doctors are very knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. There used to be an assistant at this store who was not very friendly; however, now she has changed her attitude and is very nice to the customers. I have recommended this location to friends and family.

PROS: Great doctors
CONS: None

I chose this place because of my vision plan at work and I never would have guessed a place with multiple doctors could be so good. I got a contact and eyeglasses exam and both experiences were excellent. I had some issues with the contacts and they put me in four sets of contacts until they were satisified with the fit. I truly appreciate that kind of dedication and treatment. They also worked well with my insurance. Highly recommended.
