Crown did not fit properly. The crown was too high, so every time I put my teeth together it was the only tooth to touch opposing teeth. The pressure caused pain at the gum line.

Dr. Horton drilled all the way through the porcelain on top part of crown attempting to adjust. When I still had pain in gums from pressure, he sent me for an unnecessary root canal, instead of replacing the ill-fitting crown.

While still attempting to resolve this issue, Dr. Horton suggested cosmetic dental work.

He's all about the $$$$.

I visited the South Lamar (Corners) Castle Dental Center this morning with a dental emergency for my five year old son. He'd had a toothache for a few days that had gotten worse overnight. Turns out he needed a root canal and he needed it right away! Not only were they able to see us very quickly and fix the tooth the same day, but also they treated us very well. We saw Dr. Chen. He was good with my son, who was very scared and in pain. The front desk staff was FABULOUS. The dental assistants were nice. The financing agent explained what our bill would be BEFORE the procedure was done. And, in the end, it cost less than their estimate. We had to drive quite a way to get to this dental center because it was the only one we could find open on Saturday, but I will be going back there again - driving distance and all.

I would not recommend this dental office to no one. I was diagnosed wrong. I was told I had a fibrosis lump in my mouth and all along I had a infection due to a tooth that was never looked at by the dentists at castle dental. The dentist never saw my infection on the x-ray. I was with this infections for 6 months.

As someone who has suffered from a crippling fear of dentists all my life, I went to the clinic terrified of what would happen. Dr. Jones was so helpful and understanding I cannot say enough great things about him. Despite the fact that he is an obviously a busy man, he always makes me feel comfortable and taken care of. The assisting staff has always been nice and thoughtful, making sure I'm comfortable.

I first went in to see him for an extraction. He encouraged me to come back in a week and he would give me a free exam. I went back the following week because he was so nice and I really appreciated the fact he didn't judge me for years of neglect. He examined me and gave me an estimate for treatment. He then asked me if I wanted to get it done THAT DAY!

After not seeing a dentist regularly for many years I had several thousand dollars worth of dental work I needed done. However they accept CARECREDIT which was able to finance the expenses my insurance didn't cover. They also treated me with respect and didn't lecture me for the years of neglecting my oral health. They treated me gently and educated me on the importance of taking better care of my mouth.

For the first time in my adult life I'm not ashamed of my smile and I have Dr. Jones and his staff to thank for that!

I was sent to the Castle Dental on S. Lamar to see the oral surgeon after something went wrong with an extraction at the Research Blvd/183 location.
I had gone to see Dr. Hap at Research Blvd to have an extraction of a back tooth and he was having a hard time getting one of the roots out and it broke off leaving a root tip embedded deep in my sinus. The roots had already been deeply embedded in my sinus cavity and had made holes, leaving my sinus open. (And I will go ahead and add here that Dr. Hap was amazing and his office was great. It was not his fault that the root would not come out..turns out I have a rare anomaly where my root was actually fused to the bone, can't see it on Xray. He did right by sending me to the oral surgeon at the S. Lamar Castle Dental.
Dr. Hap's staff and assistants are outstanding...but on this particular visit (Feb. 8th 2008) he was training a new assistant who left much to be desired..she was shallow, would not stop singing horribly, and after the extraction, when Dr. Hap had left the room, she was about to take an X-ray and was fooling around and tried to twirl the machine and made it hit my friggen face with the Xray card in my mouth and new loose stitches! I was NOT happy with her. Anyways... on with my story..)
So by the time I got to the Castle Dental on S. Lamar 4 hours later my novicaine had worn off. They were VERY busy, standing room only, but I didn't have to wait for too long in the waiting room. I was bawling from the pain though, I thought I was going to have to call an ambulance at any moment or pass out from the pain... finally a wonderful nurse/assistant named Crystal came and got me and she comforted me and got me into a room and cleaned me up. My husband had to speak for me I was in so much pain. You could tell the staff was worried and genuinely concerned for me. Another assistant came and put a cold wet towel on my forehead, saying it would help stop my bleeding. The oral surgeon came immediately, even though he had a very busy schedule, and numbed me up really good. He was very gentle and assured me that I would be fine and he would fix me up( can't remember his name...bald on top, grey, older, glasses and witty. I liked him) Crystal brought me a blanket and calmed me down (I was nearly hysterical by this point..shock I think) but I did calm down and the dentist fixed me up just fine! He explained everything that was going to happen and I felt NO PAIN. Crystal even held my hand when she could spare it if she could see that I was getting nervous about anything. And she even called me when I got home to check on me. This month is the first time I have ever experienced Castle Dental... and even though S. Lamar is a long drive from Leander... it will be the dentist my whole family uses. First impressions last and I was definitely cared for. We will also use the one on 183 again.

My experience with my exam, cleaning, and filling was horrible all the way around. I rarely got eye contact from the dentists, they were rough, the assistants were inexperienced and seemed unsure of themselves and everyone talked to each other the whole time and acted like I wasn't there. The entire experience was the worst dental care I have ever received.
