I'm Jason Jacques 828-553-0193 jjacques@citcom.net. If you are going to blog about something with such importance as a surgeon and the outcome of a surgery for potential patients to find than it seems only right and fair that you would include your true name and contact info. Especially If you intend on attacking a doctor in the way that ??botched T? has. I certainly want the bad experiences with doctors to be brought out into the public but if you are going to use the internet like this please have the decency to NOT hide behind a bogus name.I have PET scan 2 times a year because I am in remission. For the last year and half my Thyroid shows some activity but the oncologist didn??t think it was recurrence. After watching for a while the area uptake level increased so the doc said to have it removed. That??s how I met Dr. Humble. He confirmed the nodules in the thyroid and rec. removal. It was a month before his sched. would allow for my surgery and since its unlikely for MOST that it would be anything serious with the thyroid he felt ok with that. With my history I did not. Despite the likelihood it would be benign Dr. Humble was very sensitive to my concern and working around his full schedule and he got me in for the procedure in just over a week. I am a research junkie! So I did what you did. I ??googled? Dr. Theodore Humble the day before my surgery! What did I find? BOTCHED T! Without full medical history on myself I can say that I have been through tons in my life! From spinal meningitis (staff infection of the brain because a botched brain surgery at Emory University, if you need the story on this different topic please send me an email) to cancer. Long story short=I have had more than 10 surgeries, 7 months chemo, more than 5 different hospitals and radiation so you can imagine how I felt to run across botched T blog the night before I went under the knife with the same doctor! I was worried about cancer, recurrence of lymphoma, damage to my vocal cords?many of the same things you are worried about right now.I know people that work around all the docs and the hospital system and I asked a few who they would use for a thyroidectomy (without telling them who my doc was) and Dr. Humble was the answer I got from ALL of them. And time was not on my side as far as me shopping around?I wanted this thyroid out NOW! So I went through with the surgery. On 7/8/2010 I had my Thyroid removed by Dr. Humble. I was the LAST patient of the day. Everything went well. There was no damage to the nerves or vocal cords and he communicated very well to my family that was waiting for me. I have more experience with doctors than anyone you know as I have had a lot and I can tell you that Dr. Humble is among the best. His bedside manner is good. He really cares about his patient. He knows they have a lot of stress and they have lives and families and he takes his profession very seriously while interjecting just enough humor to be personable and cheer you up. In my research I also learned that most the complications you hear about with a thyroidectomy are due to cancer or some kind of difficult situation around nerves and it is highly unlikely that vocal cord damage and other complications would happen in a normal thyroidectomy so Mr. Botched T should include all the details as well as her name and contact information. If your vocal cords are entangled with cancer then they are probably going to be damaged SAVING YOUR LIFE! I have nothing but praises for Dr. Humble and highly recommend him and his staff. I would also encourage anyone that has something this serious to blog about to include their identity. As far as I??m concerned Botched T is nothing but a coward and slander of a good surgeon. I would also encourage anyone that is doing research on such matters to not put any thought into such bogus accusations when the identity is being withheld as well as the entire story. If the truth is know, the Botched T had some major issues and is probably lucky to be alive. And I can tell you that had they been in different surgeons hands the outcome would probably not been as good. And lastly, if you are one of the thousands of success stories that had good results with Dr. Ted Humble or any other surgeon for that matter, post a blog. The people that are doing the research could stand to find some good news about their prospective doctor.??Botched T? had caused me plenty of unnecessary stress and I hope that my good story with a happy ending will help someone. My Thyroid is gone. The scar is much smaller and neat than all of the many other scars that I have. Dr. Humble is very knowledgeable about the function and needed replacement therapy after the removal and is just one heck of a good guy! I pray that anyone reading this will have a good result and God will guide Dr. Humbles healing hands for you as he did for me. The nodules where benign just like 95% of the other people and I??m still in remission!

In August 2008, Dr. Humble performed Sunday morning emergency surgery on my 88 year old
uncle who was literally dying in the ICU at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was suffering from c-diff and the infection had become so widespread in his system that his functions were shutting down. The doctors and ICU staff, for whom I have the highest praise and gratitude, had done all they could do to keep my uncle alive. He was probably going to die within a matter of hours. The only way my uncle could possibly survive was to have most or all of his colon removed to eliminate the source of the infection. My dad (my uncle's brother) and I were at the ICU and talked the situation over with Dr. Humble, who was on call that weekend. My uncle was not conscious, but my dad and I have medical power of attorney for my uncle and we authorized Dr. Humble to perform the surgery. In all of my 54 years, it was the hardest decision I ever had to make because we had every reason to believe that my uncle would die on the operating table. At best, this surgery had a 10% chance of success, the measure of success being my uncle's survival. Dr. Humble did not encourage us to have the surgery done and did not give us any false hope for a good outcome, but he was wiiling to try. We were hoping for a miracle. And we got it. My uncle turned 89 on August 3, 2009 and is doing very well for a man his age. There is no question that the surgery saved his life. Could other doctors have performed the same surgery and gotten the same result? Perhaps. But another doctor did not perform the surgery. It was Dr. Humble. My dad and I had never met Dr. Humble prior to the morning of the surgery. I was impressed with Dr. Humble's confidence and his compassion and I will be forever grateful for the role he played in extending the life of my uncle. Based on my experience with Dr. Humble, I believe him to be a very skilled surgeon who cares about his patients. I'm sorry there are others who did not have the outcome with Dr. Humble that they had hoped for or expected.

My wife had surgery from Dr. Humble and had a very similar experience to Botched T, with many problems and a worse situation after surgery than before. I would be very interested in contact with Botched T, if she or he happens to read this review. Please contact me at averrule@gmail.com.

I stumbled upon this site and happened to read BOTCHED T's review of Dr. Humble. Although I am not personally aware of this case, I can attest to the excellent surgical skills, professional care, and competency in over 6 years of one-on-one interaction with him during my employment as his assistant. I have seen first hand the countless hours and unending patience he has given each and every patient to provide them with optimal care. Furthermore, I am aware of thousands of patients, as well as fellow medical providers and coworkers who would stand beside me in echoing his defense. He is one of the best surgeons that you could have the privilege of calling your own. Trust me, there are communities throughout the country that do not have the excellent medical care that you are blessed with in Buncombe county. Dr. Humble would be the surgeon of my choice if I ever needed surgery.. When you're looking for a surgeon, just ask those people in the hospital that see their work, and you will hear over and over again, that Dr. Humble is the surgeon of choice.

It's amazing and "shocking" knowing that Mission St. Joseph Hospital and the state of NC has allowed such a vile man to practice medicine on humans...He not only is unethical, rude having a ego above GOD- After being sent to him for a routine thyroid operation this man mutilated my throat leaving over 151 Legaclips which were never to be used in the first place in a head/neck soft tissue closing- He released me with a written RX for Levoxyl 100 mg (which I still have an actual copy in my possession as does other formal forums) to be taken every 4 hours- Which our pharmacist caught before filling and called us to tell me it would have not only caused a stroke but could have been lethal/fatal.

This is only a synopsis of Ted Humble, who is far from having a disposition of being "humble" in life hence he is only able to have it in a name-

By the way - I've spoken to (5) other patients from the region of WNC whom had the same operation and post operation having huge medical challenges from his so called care - Sadly this is NOT an isolated incident of his practice of surgical history- They too have countless staples in the throat, post op scare tissue, loss of voice and pain that has caused pain not only to the throat, oral (teeth/mouth), headaches but LONG TERM SCAR TISSUE that CAN NEVER BE REMOVED without MAJOR LIFE COMPLICATIONS....

Be cautious under his care....As HE WILL CONTINUE TO PRACTICE WITHOUT MERIT TO THE WELL BEING OF ANOTHER HUMAN PERSON(s) WELL BEING GOOD HEALTH- HE IS DANGEROUS!
