I have had periodic lower back pain for many years. Like most people, I have never taken care of my back and just took it for granted. I have always been athletic and very active and just assumed as I got older that I would just have to put up with it.
It all came to a head after a particularly active weekend, when I got out of bed Monday morning and knew I was in trouble. The pain in my back and legs was so severe that I could barely walk and certainly could not stand up straight.
I went to my family doctor hoping for the necessary referral to satisfy my insurance company requirements. He prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs and pain pills that never did seem to help much but at least when I asked him about the possibility of a referral to a chiropractor, he agreed.
It didn't take long to realize I had made the right decision. After a through evaluation, Dr. Barger began treatment of my back and also my neck which had suffered a whiplash injury 20 some years before but still gave me discomfort from time to time.
I have been seeing Dr. Barger for about 5 months now and I can say without reservation that if I've ever felt better, it was when I was much younger. My insurance coverage had long since run out but my continued treatment from Dr Barger is the smartest money I'll ever spend. As I continue to get stronger, I will continue to graduate to less frequent visits. But Dr. Barger will have to move and leave no forwarding address to get rid of me all together. He is an excellent doctor, a model representative of the chiropractic profession and a really nice guy.
After two weeks of suffering from the worst headache of my life, I turned to Dr. Barger. I had been told by another doctor that basically I wasn't taking enough pain medication and I was prescribed something stronger. Within two weeks, I was feeling significantly better and within a month, I had my life back. After three months, I feel better than I have in . . . a decade.
Several accidents, five children, and poor habits had led to back and neck problems, which ultimately led to the headache that brought me down. Dr. Barger helped me to adjust my posture, gave me exercises to strengthen my muscles, and after every single adjustment, I walked out feeling better. What I love about him is that he listens and really cares about helping you to feel better.
He's got fabulous technique! If something doesn't work, he makes note of it and find another way to make an adjustment. I've been to several other chiropractors in the past 15 years and he is by far my favorite!
Dr. Barger, Karen . . . Thank you both so much! I'm feeling great but will be in soon for my regular tune-ups.
