.

Sad to say. I was referred to him by my PCP for treatment of anxiety, depression, and insomnia. He was away on vacation, so I had schedule the appointment 6 weeks ahead. Meanwhile, I was required by him to meet regularly with one of the therapists in his office. She was nice enough, but I didn't think she really had a clue what she was doing, or that we were really hitting it off. so after 5 weeks, the week before I was to meet the DOC, I called to say as much, asked for a different therapist, and told them I didn't like their rule that I HAD to see one of the 4 therapists in that office - that kind of relationship is hard to find, and I resented the oddly controlling restrictions, which I have never seen elsewhere in my life.

So today, Wacks calls up and tells me I either need to work things out with the therapist, or I can't come to see him. I told him, "so that's just it, then, huh", at his stern recital of his rules, and he said "you know what, you're arrogant, I don't want to work with you". I said, "You never even met me!", and he said, "And I don't want to". So, I told him to F himself, and hung up the phone.

For the record, I was never anything but nice to everyone in that office. Always pleasant.

Seems to me, after I called to cancel with the therapist (4 days notice), although express my willingness to still talk to the DOC - who I'd now waited 5 weeks for, and paid for 5 appointments with a therapist I didn't like just to get a foot in the door and some help, the least the guy can do is not insult me and call me arrogant for daring to have my own feelings about his "rules".

The other guy I saw once in town charged me 250 bucks for an initial consult.

And people wonder why people who see shrinks look crazy....

These guys are nuts.
