Dr. Speaker is a great pediatrician if your child is well. When I encountered a sickness, I was often referred to another specialist. At first I thought this was a great feature, but then realized she ALWAYS seemed to refer us to someone else (thus costing more) or told to "come back if he isn't better in a week."

Dr. Speaker wants to talk to you and doesn't make you feel like you're taking too much time for well-baby/child check-ups. But, watch your bills! Since she codes her own transcriptions, if you talk about anything (even if she brings it up) outside of what may not be well-baby/child routine, she will bill you for it as another office visit. It's totally "legal" but not necessarily ethical. Bring your own notebook if you want to combat her transcription notes since otherwise it's your word against her office managers' word (since Dr. Speaker won't talk to you about it). It was a pain! After calling 3 times, it took 2 weeks for them to return a call that they said they'd return the next day. At one point the med asst. told me that the doctor was too busy.

When there are underhanded billing methods and people won't answer questions about a well-baby check... and you can't talk to the doctor about her own billing... well... that's enough.

We were looking for a new pediatrician after losing the pediatrician that we really liked. Dr. Speaker was referred to us by a friend and this turned out to be a teriffic referral.

Dr. Speaker is thorough and listens well but most importantly and what we respect is that when we bring our soon to be nine year old daughter in Dr. Speaker speaks directly to her. Asking her questions about her symptoms, asking about school, outside activities and so on. Dr. Speaker also uses descriptive storytelling to get her point across.

Diagnosis and treatment of a problem is then discussed with both patient and parent.

Dr. Speaker's medical facility is clean, organized and well staffed. They always work to schedule an appointment for us in a timely manner and also return phone calls promptly. We have also never had a billing problem with Creekside.

I too followed Dr. Jones from Vancouver Clinic to her own clinic and was also several family member's doctor as well. We all just love her and she has really helped me. We loved Dr. Speaker as well. We planned on having her be our newest child's pediatrician, but when she was born extremely premature, we ended up going to another pedkatrician because of office hours and availability, as well as Creekside Med's physicians no longer were affilitated with SWMC (which was necessary for us). My next appointment with Dr. Jones was not pleasant. She seemed upset we hadn't been taking preemie daughter to her and she made several snide remarks about how we shouldn't trust the rest of our care to her if we didn't trust preemie's care to her. Even after I explained to her our reasoning, she still was snippy. I never expected that of her, but now I'm in the market for a new physician - I will do what's best for my family, not for my doctor's ego.
