I'm not sure where to begin. They seemed great at first and we (my husband and I) wanted to pay for a "real" optometrist to get our new glasses. We waited three weeks for our glasses. When they came in, the distortion was so bad, I was dizzy. They told me that I just needed to get used to the new glasses, even though I've never had trouble with that before. When I asked how long it would take, they said "a couple months."

Like an idiot, I believed them and went back to work. I couldn't even drive with the glasses and as the day went on, the pain from the distortion got worse and worse. I went back later that day and discovered they used the wrong lenses. So the glasses had to be sent back to be re-made. I was told they'd call when the glasses came in. After a week, I called and they snottily said I had to be patient. After two weeks, same thing. On the third week, I called and they told me my glasses had been sitting there waiting and gee, why didn't I pick them up?

When I got those glasses, I still had distortion. They told me the same thing, and like an idiot again, I believed them. I had to return the next day because my eyes and head hurt so bad from the distortion. I asked them if they really measured pupil distance and the receptionists rolled their eyes, then called the doctor. He measured and sure enough, they had the wrong pupil distance! This is something even a student should know!

So once again I waited a few weeks for the glasses to come in. By that time, they worked well enough that I could see, though the glasses were still a bit weird. Two weeks later, the lenses fell out of my glasses. Upon closer inspection, I discovered the lenses had been ground improperly on the edges, causing the tension wire to be cut apart. When we took them back, the receptionist said it would take a month to fix and we'd be charged for it because I had clearly misused the glasses.

By that point, it had been months since the initial exam and I was sick of it. My husband asked about a refund and the receptionist (and her co-receptionist) went nuts and started screaming about how we just came in there to start a fight. We insisted on a refund and they made a huge deal about how we just wanted to harass them. Eventually, we got a partial refund and our insurance reversed the charges, some of which had been duplicated.

I then went to our local Walmart just to get some cheap glasses until we could find a new optometrist and discovered on top of it all, Albany Eye Care got my prescription wrong this whole time.

Cons: Everything?

.

I was in Albany Eye Care recently and saw Dr. Hollon. I also purchased glasses. I am very happy with the exam and glasses. They even cut my lenses and had them back to me in one day! The staff was great! I would highly recommend them to all of Laramie.

Wow going to place is like going to the twilight zone! The manager Kristy is the worst person in the world to deal with and she will cause you a lot of problems. Likewise, Dr. Hollon is the biggest crock of a doctor. I am actually checking to see if he is licensed to legally practice because judging from my experience he doesn't know the first thing about what he is doing.

Business Response:

Scary customer! This person came into our doctor's office screaming at us. Our patients were very frightened, so I had to call the police to get him out.

Dr. King is a wonderful doctor. He is thorough and understanding and deeply involved with the community. His bedside manner is excellent and I've always been pleased (for 20 years) with the care I've received. A nice selection of eyeglasses, too!
