.

The doctor was late by about 30 minutes- said he was reviewing my chart. That is understandable. He seemed to have difficulty moving and used the garbage can to brace himself as he sat into a chair. He never took his hand off the edge of the open garbage can for 20 minutes while he spoke to me. He then told me to get on the exam table and proceeded to get a tongue depresser and put it into my mouth- never having washed his hands nor use hand sanitizer. He told me that their wasn't compelling evidence that I indeed had MAC (even after a bronchoscopy and chest CT as proof). He told me that I could stop treatment, but should discuss with my pulmonologist. He added that if I did have it, it wasn' t necessary to treat right now. Everything I've researched on MAC plus everything my pulmonologists have told me, MAC will just get worse and harder to treat. It doesn't make any sense to wait to treat it. I have recently gotten a second opinion with another Infectious Disease doc, who confirms that my current treatment is the right course. In addition, Dr. Bellizi came off as arrogant and condescending.
