I concur with previous review regarding Dr. Burgess. He is a "to-the-point" dentist who doesn't seem very fit for childhood dentistry. The open floorplan takes some growing used to (still don't like it for lack of any privacy and "cattle-herding" feel it creates). I personally observed a mother chew Dr. Burgess out over the way he spoke to her child and confusion over their billing. BUT...Dr. Simpson is much better with the children. Also, they are very understanding when it comes to balances due and are pretty content to let you pay a little along without harrassing you. Each trip usually is costly and most insurance helps very little.

The office is very clean staff is very nice but Dr. Burgess is a very rude and very impolite to the children. My little girl was so terrified of the dentist he was so rude and he was hollering at her and let her in the chair and started on another patient while my child was sitting hollering. I was so hurt and angry and hurt by his actions. I will never visit there again. I reall for sorry for the staff because they are so nice and freindly. But Dr. Burgess you need a reality check they are children they are afraid you need more patience and less attitude. You are an old Jerk!!!!!!

When I first walked into the back of the building, I was rather disappointed that it is an open floor plan, and all the seats with other patients are near each other. I, myself, would rather have privacy.
But, after seing the children playing at the "play area" and none of them were afraid because they could see others and what is to come, I saw that it is a very good idea: a child's enviroment. One where a child perhaps afraid of the dentist chair can rest easy after seeing with another child, that there is nothing to be afraid of.
Dr. Burgess, himself, is a fine doctor. He interacts with the "patients" (children) personally, and has a system set up where he can put them at ease. (Has cutesy names for cavities and gas masks and such). Above all, I found a permanent dentist for my child with Dr. Burgess.

PROS: children's enviroment, children remain at ease
CONS: small chldren are seen in the morning only, older in evening
