On a Friday night in May 2010 I stumbled and fell and badly fractured and dislocated my two formerly perfect front teeth. I was devastated and inconsolable. However, at 11:30 that Friday night I called the emergency number of Dental Associates and the dentist on call, Dr. Christopher Maguire, called me back in five minutes. He saw me the next morning at the Brookline office--on a saturday-- and spent over two hours providing me not only with emergency treatment, but with compassion and concern. I had only been a patient of this practice for two weeks, but I was treated like a family member.

From Janice and Rita in the front office who have been consistently concerned and thoughtful, to wonderful Grace who took such care in fitting my temporaries, to Dr. Shomali and Dr. Meola, whose expertise and calm instills confidence in the most traumatized patient, I felt I could not be in better hands.

I am a master's prepared registered nurse. I know good clinical care when I see it, but this practice is more than that--it is also full of compassion, concern and good humor--and you never know when you will suddenly need a highly skilled multi-specialty practice. The dentists are all from the top schools in the country and can handle any problem or cosmetic procedure.

Unlike another reviewer who said the practice was expensive, I found that this practice is well in line with other multi specialty Boston practices in Boston and even more importantly, they do nothing that isn't needed.

I highly recommend this practice for both cosmetic and general dentistry.

They failed to find my appointment that I book a week earlier in advance. I rescheduled my consultation to 4, only call back to find out it has been changed to a cleaning. The lady hung on me after complaining.

Dental Associates is not the place to go if you want personalized care. I waited 30 minutes in the waiting room and then another 30 minutes upstairs to be seen. My 9:30 appointment was honored at 10:30. Then, I found out that their services cost 50% more than any other orthodontist!

PROS: Nicely decorated office
CONS: Long waiting.
