My daughter was taken to Sandhills Regional by her friends after they had a golf cart accident. Her friends took her to the E.R. and then called me, so I had not choice of where she was admitted. When I arrived she had a huge gash in her upper left thigh and I requested to be transferred to First Health Moore Regional so I could get a plastic surgeon to fix it. Dr. Keku made it very difficult to be transferred, talked down to me and basically snickered when we questioned him about anything. He is very unprofessional. It was not a personal assualt on his medical ability, I just did not want her leg put together with staples. I wanted her leg operated on by a doctor who would not leave a mangled mess on her leg. It looked like a shark bite and would have been very difficult to just staple. He was very rude and condescending. I told him not to talk to me like a 2 year old! He then asked me the name of the doctor I wanted to be transferred to. I told him I would have to look up a plastic surgeon and then I would let him know. He was not helpful to us at all and since he thought we were taking the business away from him. When I did get a doctor's name, Dr. Keku talked to him on the phone and downplayed the injury and would not let me talk to him. Long story short, we finally got to First Health but with no help from Dr. Keku. After talking with the plastic surgeon he said that Dr. Keku was hard to understand and did not tell him the extent of the injury. I was furious. I have an appointment to meet with a rep from the hospital to discuss my experience. DON'T GO TO SANHILL'S REGIONAL E.R.!
