He misdiagnosed my child when he had pneumonia and my son wound up suffering needlessly. He is totally negligent, mean and uncaring. I have never had a good experience with him or Dr. Mann. They have both misdiagnosed my children several times. Stay away!

My experience with this office, the doctors, and staff has been a very bad one. First of all, in the mornings trying to get a person in the office, let alone a doctor on the phone has been difficult and trying. The answering service is still picking up the calls well after 10 am. This is the last thing I want especially after being up all night with a sick child. When my call is finally answered, i have to leave a message which when returned it is usually a nurse. This happened once where they didn't pick up the calls in the office till 11 am. The nurse told me my child was fine and to bring her in that day at 2pm after a night and morning of vomiting AND diarrhea. I bring her in the office that late in the day, and was told at that point she was soo dehydrated she needed to go straight to the er about 45minutes away. By the time We got to the ER, my kid was in BAD SHAPE. She was hospitalized for days, ending up in ccu with very dangerous blood pressure. I should've never listened to that nurse, and waited till 2pm. I should have went straight to the er. The point is they don't answer the phones and they just don't care. This is one of many bad experiences I have had there. Also, Dr. John DelGiorno is very inquisitive about my personal life, totally inappropriate. They need to pay more attention to the patients. Several times, he examined my child without having the chart, and I asked him to please get it. The chart was MIA, as usual. This place is the worst! I hope I can help other parents not go through what I did.

I've taken both of my children there since they were born. My oldest is 18 and still wants to go there instead of my primary care physician. Once my youngest was very sick with mono (rare in child her age, 7) if it wasn't for Dr. Mann's quick response to refer her immediately to CHOP I shudder to think what could have happened. Likewise Dr Joe, Dr Melissa and Dr. Harry are the great!!! We've been through stitches, broken bones, infections and asthma attacks. My kids love them as do I. I must confess I try to avoid the older Dr. John, he is a little more serious and my kids don't like him as much, but he is still a very thorough Dr. and I've never doubted his ability to treat my children's illnesses over the years. I don't care who answers phones, I care who treats my kids!

I would discourage anyone from using this doctor. I was not pleased with my experience and how my daughters were cared for. Definitely would not recommend.

Dr. John DelGiorno refused to give me a referral for my child to see a neurologist despite her having ongoing headaches and vomiting. When I asked him to see the neurologist he said...for what? what do you think they will do? The office finally sent me to the ER where I was told my child needs to see a neurologist. This is not the first time he did not diagnose my children properly and dismissed my concerns. I'm done! My children deserve better. And Also, the front desk staff is awful too!

Both father and son are amazing doctors. TRUE community members. Really take the time for each child! Very knowledgeable in all area of child healthcare. I have been using their practice for 11 years for my two children. I have also had experience with Dr. mann. she is outstanding as well. Would HIGHLY recommend these doctors.

The answering service is aweful. The people who answer the phone are rude and I have to call them at least 3 pr 4 times a day to get a call back. Some days I never received a call back. My son had pink eye in both eyes and they said he just had blocked tear ducts. His eyes got so bad I wound up in the hospital and it turned out he had a staph infection. Also the front desk staff is very rude and not helpful. The nurses are in a hurry and were not gental with my new born. The wait time to see the dr has been AT LEAST 45 minutes every time I have gone there for an appointment. The waiting room is small and fills up and gets noisy. I will never go here ever again. Sick parents go into the non sick patients waiting area and my new born wound up with a cold after that.

The nurses that attended the reception/scheduling area always had some kind of unwarented attitude. They looked down at me from day one because I had State insurance. They would make snide comments about me being another state collector. My husband works for the state and that is why I had that insurance! They never took my concerns seriously and often undermined me. The doctors were NOT any better. They let my daughter go 3 months with an ear infection, experimenting on different antibiotics. Never once did they head my concern that it was hurting her ablity to hear and learn properly. They would never refer her to a specialist when they obvioulsy werent able to cure her. When they perscribed her with an antibiotic that she was alergic to ,I drew the line! Especialy when they knew her allergies to strawberries and they wanted to give her an antibiotic with strawberry flavor. If it was not for the dilligence of my pharmacy noticing it, I dont know what could have happened. I am amazed that anyone could have any positive things to say about this practice and its staff...

My sons have gone to DelGiorno's offices for close to 5 years now. I have no hesitancy with recommending him or his staff. His careful attention to detail and his willingness to go above and beyond are unmatched even seeing my son's if needed on the weekend! I love these offices and so do my children.

Dr. John is extremely nasty and has misdiagnosed my child when he had pneumonia. Dr. Mann (the woman) misdiagnosed my other child as having a virus when he had a severe bacterial infection and pink eye. They get mad if someone questions their judgment, which happens to be wrong most of the time. With all of the other good pediatricians in the area, go elsewhere.

My son is a year old and has over 10 ear infections. Dr John put him on Amoxicillin, probably for the 10th time. He broke out in a rash. When I called him, after hours, he told me that it was a fever rash, not an allergy. I work in the medical field and know the difference between the two. How he could determine this over the phone was concerning. Nevertheless, I asked him to change the antibiotic which he declined. It was not until I told him I would call the physician I work for to give me another antibiotic. I guess when he figured he may not get his referrals into our office was the time he agreed to change his medication.

It's obvious the medical staff places its highest priority on the financial aspects of medicine. The original practice partners are completely out of touch and are effectively paper shufflers ( Del Giorno, father and son and female physician Mann )concerned with their reimbursement and not much more. I used the practice because of convenience but if you ever need anything more than immunizations this is not the place to go. I arranged to change my kids primary physician because of the and poor physician judgement, practice and blatant apathy. I would bring my children to this practice even as a last resort.

I would recommend this practice to everyone! After my 4th child was born, I immediately felt there was something wrong. She was a "floppy" baby, and her cries were very faint. She had reflux, failure to thrive, and low muscle tone. We went to various specialists, and they all said to treat her like a preemie. I said I would not because she was not a preemie! Dr. John said to me that if I thought there was something wrong then we would keep looking because the "mom always knows". It turns out that she has an extremely rare genetic disorder, and if Dr. John didn't keep looking, we wouldn't have found out as early as we did, and she would not have gotten the early therapies she needed. His whole practice is built with this mentality. All of the docs are great, Dr. Lynn Mann, Dr. Joe, Dr. Harry, Dr. Melissa, and Dr. Audrey. My children have seen all of them at one point or another, and they are all extremely caring individuals. We are very fortunate to have them as our pediatricians!

I personally don't care if the staff is super-friendly or not, just that Dr. John is very thorough with the children. Remember that you are bringing your children in for good medical care, not a dog and pony show from the doctor.

Dr. John sits and listens intently with the stethoscope sometimes for several minutes and while it seems that some physicians just go through the motions. He seems truly dedicated to his patients.

We first started seeing Dr. Jonn when our son was 3 days old with jaundice. It was Christmas Eve. He saw or spoke with us every day on the phone for a week there after, at his suggestion--even on Christmas night. I will say I was uncomfortable with his somewhat rough handling of our baby & his VERY matter-of-fact attitude with us, but he knew what he was doing & cared enough to take the time to do it, even late at night. Our son is now almost 6 & we still go to the practice. Dr. Joe is our favorite, particularly my son's. He is absolutely fantastic with the kids and if he doesn't know the answer, he'll send you to someone who does.

The office staff & nurses are quite another matter. It's like potluck. You never know how kind or how obscenely rude someone is really going to be. A few of the nurses are downright awful, rough with the children & totally lack bedside manner. We tolerate them to stay with the fantastic doctors.

We first met Dr. Del Giorno 17 years ago when our daughter was only 1 and have been seeing him ever since. Dr. John has taken care of our 3 children and was the first to notice developmental delays in our son when he was just 2. His compassion shines through with each child and even though we have moved away from the area, we still make the drive too see him when our kids are sick. I fear the day when my kids out grow Dr. John...we just love him!

My experience with this office was very disappointing. My insurance requires referals so I asked to get a referal for my daughter to see our family eye doctor of 15 years. They told me that he wasn't a medical doctor and that they would only refer me to ophthalmologists. This is outrageous!! My eye doctor is lisenced, extremely knowledgeable, and perfectly capable of handling our eyecare. Just because he doesn't do surgeries doesn't make him any less of a doctor!

I would recommend them to anyone I know. I went to see Dr John as a little girl, and he was key in diagnosing my brother with a rare leg disease. If it wasn't for that diagnosis,my brother would have ended up in a wheel chair. We are grown now ans well. I now take my children. Although Dr John is hard to see,His son Dr. Joe is terrific with the kids.!! Some of the front desk staff could be friendlier. But the docs and nurses are great!J.d

Dr. Delgiorno and his associates are great. His early diagnosis of a problem on my son saved him a lot of pain had it been discovered later. I always feel comfortable with the staff and never rushed. Would highly recommend this group to anyone with children. My best friend's daughter is 18 and still goes to Dr. D!!!!

I am an adult now, 27 yrs to be exact. And went to DelGiorno until the last possible year! I have NO bad memories of visiting the office from the staff to the Dr's. In fact, Dr John recognized something that didnt seem right to him when I was about 3. Turns out he was right, I was diagnosed with & treated in time for Wilm's Tumor. So now I am a childhood-cancer survivor. Like I said, nothing bad to say here. I've just recommended him to my 2 nieces.

Everyone has their own expectations for a pediatrician. Dr. Delgiorno is not "clownlike", but he is very thorough, goes above and beyond the expected in follow up, and has experience to boot. Both of my children screamed at every pediatrician they saw as babies. I was never concerned about whether my children liked the doctor or even whether I personally liked him. I wanted to know without a doubt that my pediatrician put my child's health first, that we were not just a number in a sea of patients, and most important was confidence in the doctor's diagnosis. Dr. John is very accomodating and has called me very late at night, has seen my sick children on Sundays, and has never denied us an appointment. His office staff is always accomodating and his other Doctors are great as well. Dr. Joe Delgiorno is very funny, and kids love him and Dr. Mann is great too. I had seen several pediatricians before finding Dr. Delgiorno, and as I said, I feel lucky to have my children's health in such able hands.

I would not recommend Dr. Delgiorno to anyone looking for a pediatrician. He is very cold and not at all gentle when examing the children, even small babies. The staff at his office is very rude and calls are rarely returned. My son had a serious rash and they wouldn't even give me an appointment, instead saying that it had to come from the laundry detergent I was using, even though I had been using the same laundry detergent since the day he was born.

I have ended up switching pediatricians and am much happier with the new doctors I take my children to. I would not recommend this physician.
