Dr. Choi stood me up for an urgent care appointment then charged me for an x-ray that was unnecessary. His x-ray tech took the same x-ray four times because she couldn't get the angle right. There are better dentists to choose from in the area.

Worst experience of my life. This was the most rude dentist I have ever had the displeasure of spending time around. He helped me out at first, but was very condescending and rude, not only to me, but to his surly assistants as well. Choi yelled at me when I was upset that I was shot with Novacain, forced to wait for over two hours. I was then kicked out of the dentist room and sent to the lobby for a "emergency patient" for another hour. Obviously a walk-in patient takes precedence over someone in dire need of surgery. When I told him that he should have rescheduled me, he argued with me and said that he didn't have to see me or pull my tooth. He insisted that we try and talk it out, and when I explained why I was upset he then refused to pull my tooth, saying that he was frustrated because he had yelled at me and was not a machine (he was the one who started yelling in the first place - which he was very proud to admit). I called a family member while I was in the office and he took the phone and yelled at ... This was the most rude dentist I have ever had the displeasure of spending time around. My tooth is in awful shape, I cannot eat and I cannot sleep but Jonathan Choi could hardly care any less. He kicked me out of the office, his assistants proceeded to argue more (three employees were screaming at me at one point) they then laughed at me when I demanded my money be returned to me (which they refused). This man is a real piece of work, he used very vulgar language and against me on multiple occasions. I am in a considerable amount of pain, but I never want to go to the dentist again because of this man. In fact, I would rather die then let this drunken idiot take a drill to my teeth. A blind monkey would be a better dentist than this man; go anywhere else in Arcata but to this place TRUST ME.

I had a long overdue needed root canal. I checked out multiple dentists in the area, they were rushed, which is sometimes understandable, but the best adjective I can come up with to describe them is cocky, with undertones of irritation or apathy. None of them would do my root canal which was a frontal tooth, and typically something a DDS can do. Dr. Choi (and all of his staff) met with me with absolute warmth and cheer, spent SO much time speaking with me to ensure that I was fully aware of my issue, how to handle it and how to prevent it in the future. THEN without skipping a beat, he made the time to do the root canal on the spot. And did a great great job!

I am so happy to have found him, and I was referred to him by two of my coworkers who are equally as happy with him. He is not even a"contracted dentist" in our insurance plan-- he's just that good.

Oh and sometimes most importantly-- the root canal was half of what I have paid in the past!
