This was the most awful dental experience EVER!!! I have a new job and new dental insurance, so I made an appointment for an exam and cleaning. When I made the appointment with the front office staff, I asked for a cleaning and X-rays, because my insurance covers this 2 times a year, I also wrote this request on my paperwork. I waited about 4-5 weeks for the appointment for my husband and myself, and took a day off work for our appointment. After our X-rays, a woman came into the exam room. I thought she was the dental hygienist coming in to clean my teeth. She began to poke at my gums to "measure" them. After being examined by the dentist, I was handed a "treatment plan" with over $300 in extra cleaning/anti-biotic/anti-microbial charges that my insurance does not cover. I explained to the dental assistant that I was only there for x-rays and whatever cleaning/preventative services my insurance covered, and that I would have to schedule the additional services at a later time. She then told me that "they don't do that". I had to either pay for all of the additional services, or they would not perform ANY cleaning services on me, including the insurance approved cleaning services. Dr. Levenson then came in and told me that they would NOT clean my teeth unless I agreed to his entire cleaning/anti-biotic/anti-microbial "treatment plan", and that if I did not want to have an antibiotic powder imbedded into my gums then I would have to get an "approval letter" from my family physician in order for him remove that portion of his "treatment plan", and then once I jumped through that hoop, he would clean my teeth at that time, as long as I agreed to and paid for the rest of his cleaning/anti-biotic/anti-microbial "treatment plan". When I expressed that I wanted some time to get a second opinion and check other resources to determine if I wanted to follow his cleaning/anti-biotic/anti-microbial "treatment plan", he said that I could do that, but that he REFUSED to allow the hygienist to perform the basic cleaning/preventative services that my insurance DOES cover. I was so upset, and left the exam room is shock! I found my husband in the waiting room (he has great dental hygiene) and figured they must have cleaned his teeth. To my shock, I discovered that they also REFUSED to clean his teeth unless he agreed to a cleaning/anti-microbial "treatment plan" that added up to $317.20 of out-of-pocket expenses. I am still in shock that a dentist would actually refuse to provide basic insurance approved care, unless you agree to, and pay up front for his cleaning/anti-biotic/anti-microbial "treatment plan". My advice to anyone considering seeing Dr. Levenson at Imaginx Dental as a new patient...if you ONLY want your insurance approved basic cleaning/preventative services, get something in writing first stating that Dr Levenson is willing to provide you with ONLY your insurance approved basic cleaning/preventative services if you request it, otherwise be prepared to agree to and pay for Dr. Levenson's cleaning/anti-biotic/anti-microbial "treatment plan" if he recommends it, or leave with unclean teeth like we did!
It is too bad I love the idea of one dental location including Ortho for entire family. Dr Patty did a great job with our 4 kids at Imagix back in February, and now that I have Ortho insurance we were getting ready to put all 4 kids in braces with Dr. G at Imagix, but the experience with Dr Levenson was so horrible, that our family of 6 will NEVER be back to any Imagix dentist or orthodontist!!!

Overall a good experience. Atmosphere is a bit fast paced/rushed. Hours are difficult as I have to take time off from work or take kids out of school. No nights or weekends.
