I have been going to Dr. Kaimakis since he was opened his practice. I have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Kaimakis and his staff. They are warm and truly caring of their patients. I have fallen asleep more than once during routine cleanings because I have been so relaxed. My children now go to Dr. Kaimakis as well and they love him too. He is funny and keeps them giggling and me as mom more relaxed. I wish my kids liked their doctor as well as our dentist. Hands down, he is the best dentist ever!!

I have been going to Dr. Barry Kaimakis since he first open on 4th avenue, very skillful Dentist. My wife and two kids also go to Dr. Kaimakis and we have had nothing but exceptional results. His staff is great and very friendly which makes a difference in why we have stayed with Dr. Kaimakis for all these years.
All of dental needs have exceeded expectations and are far superior to any dentist I have used in the past. My 19 year old son had gone away to college and needed some emergency dental work done at college and he could not stand the treatment he received. As soon as he returned back he made an appointment with Dr. Kaimakis to review the work that had been perform at college.
We could not be more pleased with all the service over the years, if you are looking for an experienced caring dentist and staff visit Dr. Barry Kaimakis you won??t be disappointed.

I have been at Barry's office for over 5 years and love it. This is an office that runs on time, so do not be late. The staff is excellent in knowing the insurance and the treatment plan that Barry has designed just for my dental needs. My co-pay is always correct or close to correct.
So there are no surprises in what you owe at the end of a visit,
If you are looking for a family atmosphere and a place where they always remember you name, then this is the place.
I think it is one of the best dental offices in downtown Seattle.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kaimakis for twelve years and received the best care ever. What he has established for me is a dental health care program and it's working.

I selected Dr. Kaimakis as my dentist when I was in my early fourties. I came to him with naturally straight teeth, health gums and bone, but a mouth full of worn out old fillings and crowns from my youth. Over the years he has restored or replaced many troubled teeth. On one occasion one of my molers just crumbled. I called the office and was in the dental chair within a couple of hours. Dr. Kaimakis and his team made me feel that I was the priority and quickly took care of the pain, and restored my tooth.

He can do this not only because he is an excellent dentist, but because he maintains professional relationships with the lab he uses, the endodonists and oral surgeons he refers, and he has a great staff.

I find the office location very convenient. I love the wall color and furnishing because they are calming and understated.

I heard from a colleague that this Dentist was a good choice. On her recommendation I visited Barry, who insisted I get a couple crowns to prevent future root canals.

Although I was not in any pain whatsoever, I trusted Barry and was fearful as I've heard horror stories about root canals. Long story short and four months later, the pain culminated in a fever, sinus infection, flu and a root canal on the very tooth Barry drilled into. I went to see another dentist and an endodontist who were both hesitantly, but truthfully scrutinizing Barry's work. The endodontist concluded that at the very least, "your dentist exponentially accelerated the death of your tooth." Barry decided to bill me for the crown, all the follow-up check-ups to see what was causing all the pain, including the final emergency check-up where I was in living hell; losing four days of work, three days of sleep, flu, sinus infection, migraines, etc.

To add insult to injury, I received a $350 bill later that month. After paying my co-pay each visit with my credit card, I didn't expect to see any additional bills. I was wrong. It was at this point I wrote Barry the following letter of advice for his future practice:

1) You should consider disclosing the risks of your procedures before performing the procedure. You told me that a crown was necessary to avoid a root canal. I trusted you and let you know that. Only after drilling away my tooth and cavity did you say that you may need a root canal due to the procedure.

2) You should avoid telling patients that a procedure will costs $150 dollars then months later bill them for an additional $102. And if you say we estimate within $1 - $2 of the actual billing, that is what you should arrive at. And ask people if they have digital x-rays, although you lose out on one more thing to bill, your patient will appreciate the fact that they don??t have to pay for the same thing twice (like I??m doing ?? and perhaps I should have spoke up on my end)

3) If you cause a patient loss of health, loss of wealth, and loss of work, don??t exhaust their insurance further by billing them as a check up to research what you caused and say ??sorry, I don??t know what to tell you, nerves are like branches of a tree.? It really just adds insult to injury.

4) If you error, or simply due to unforeseen circumstances, and undesirable outcome results, recognize it, perhaps apologize even, and do what you can to ameliorate the situation as oppose to trying to squeeze every dime you can out of your patients.

I sincerely wish you considered these points. I would really, really hate for another patient to have the experience I had ?? come in pain-free and leave with a dead tooth

Barry ?? word of mouth is how I ended up visiting your practice and I must admit, I did read a couple negative reviews before agreeing to the crown which caused me to be quite unsettled and second guess your expertise. Well you can add one more review to the list and I hope it saves people from sharing my experience.

Pros: Dental Hygienist was informative and gentle on the teeth

Cons: See below...

.

I am recently a new patient at Dr Kamakis' office. I haven't had my teeth cleaned for a while so they looked pretty nasty so i came in for a cleaning. I was very pleased with the service that i received from the office. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgable. They tried their best to firgure out the coverage that i receive from my dental insurance. The doctor was so gently and kind, he did the exam for me and told me that i only had couple small cavities need to done. whooop!!!! i'm not a regular flosser so i thought i would have tons of cavities after 5 years of not going to the dentist. The other good thing is that i was able to have my teeth cleaned on the very first appointment. (Of all the offices that i've been to, usually i had to come back to have my teeth cleaned in the second appointment). The cleaning was painless and my teeth felt so clean afterward. I would recommend this office to all my friends and family members.

I've been going to Barry for a few years now and I have to say that he is hands down, the best dentist in Seattle.

Every time you come into the office, you receive a warm greeting and are quickly moved into the chair for you cleaning etc. Never rushed, but you never languish in the waiting area. The scheduling team is always able to work with my schedule and find a time that fits with my work.

Once in the chair, the Dental Hygienists are gentile and efficient. Then Barry comes in. Always with a genuine handshake and a "how have you been?" Never a sales pitch, just a quality assesment of your dental health. When I go to the dentist, I'm there for my teeth, Barry gets that and keeps it personable at the same time.

Sounds like a winner to me.

Looking for a new dentist in the Seattle area, or need to change? - Barry Kaimakis is your man. I can't get enough of this guy and his team. His staff is unbelievably considerate, kind, professional, and fun. His dental team are just as skilled, warm, and informative. I ask questions, a lot, about everything - and they are always happy to answer them and even teach me some new things I didn't know before. They are detailed and show me what's going on and what needs to be done.

Recently, I had to have a crown put in and I thought this was going to absolutely kill me. Barry and his staff walked me through the process and continually asked me if I had any questions during the entire process (post and pre procedure). They made me feel relaxed, and in good hands.

I remember asking Barry (a prominent DDS no less) if he has performed the crowning process before and how many times. Did he take offense to this? No, he smiled and laughed, and reassured me he had, many, many times. This is a person who cares about people. Who puts himself in the patients position and understands the fear of the unknown that patients experience.

Listen, I was one of those who didn't go to the dentist in years, I mean almost a decade. I walked into Barry's office (through the recommendation of a friend) and they took care of me. I was honest with them, and they were just happy that I took the first step to getting my teeth in order. They didn't make me feel foolish, or irresponsible. They took care of me, helped me understand some areas of concern and what needed immediate attention, and what my options were. Did I mention the toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste I got afterwards?

This same treatment is why I continue to see Barry. He and his team never try to push anything on to me, they give me the facts and let me make my own decisions. His staff can even give me an estimate of what my insurance will cover and what I'm expected to pay - and there are NEVER any surprises. I know what needs to be done, and I know my coverage. When I move to the next step is all up to me, and they let me make that decision.

His offices are clean and tidy, and centrally located. Very convenient and accessible. Every time I go there, I feel like I'm their only patient and everyone is there to help me (sounds silly and I know I'm not their only patient, or even that day, but that has always been my experience, and it's a pretty good feeling).

I trust very few people in the world and I expect almost everyone who provides a service to try and be out for themselves, to get me one way or another (you should see my review on a former mechanic, but that's neither here nor there). I trust Barry and his staff and I like them, and most of all they make me feel comfortable and that's makes my visits very pleasant.

I've been a patient for several years, and I've had good experiences under Dr. Kamaikis's care. He's done five crowns and a couple of filling replacements for me. I had complications after one of these procedures, with pain following a crown installation, but he was able to fix that with adjustments and a deep cleaning over the course of two follow-up visits (on his dime).

His personality is calm and friendly. Compared to some previous dentists I've had, his treatment style tends to err on the side of caution. For example, if a tooth has a particularly large filling that's nearing the end of its effective life, I've found that he's more likely to recommend a crown than a replacement filling. And if things look sketchy below the gumline, he may send you to the endodontist right away rather than taking a watch-and-see approach. I happen to like this aspect of his treatment style, but it's worth pointing out because different people have different preferences.

I've been impressed with some of the people-related choices he's made. His office staff are great, as others have mentioned, and he's hired some quite good hygenists over the years. And when I needed a root canal treatment, I was very happy with the endo he chose to recommend, in terms of both technical skill and personality.

I went to Dr. Barry Kaimakis 's office for a cleaning. When it's done, he told me that I should replace my old crown if I don't want to have any serious problems later. I took his advice...after all, he is a professional (I was naive, I know, I know). It cost me more than $1,000. But I thought it was worth to pay for my ??future?.

After the treatment, my gum was sensitive and sore especially when I had something cold/hot. One month passed and I was still in pain. What was worse, my pain became unbearable at last...I couldn't eat nor sleep any more.

I had to go back to his office. After his hygienist took my X-ray, he smiled and guaranteed that my pain would be gone on that very same day. I was relieved and happy to hear it... until I found out his ??solution? was just to send me to the endodontist for root canal. He just told me ??Unfortunately, it often happens?, even though he never mentioned the risk of it before the treatment.

Then I visited the endodontist to stop this excruciating pain (do I have any other choice?).
Instead of root canal treatment, the endodontist adjusted my new crown (which Dr. Kaimakis replaced, needless to say) little bit and told me to come back if it didn??t work. Guess what? It worked! Hurraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

My tooth was never sore or sensitive prior to Dr. Kaimakis??s procedure. I may or may not have serious problem later, like he freaked me out. But what makes difference to have horrible pain NOW instead of ??LATER???
I can??t trust Dr. Kaimakis and his clinical skills any more. I will change my dentist and NEVER visit his office again.

Btw, his office is fancy and his staff are very friendly and helpful.
