First off, please note that she is not a doctor/psychiatrist. She is a med nurse (ARNP). Yes, nurse practitioners often are very competent and can deliver excelent care; much like a dr can. However, this apparently means that, in the state of florida unable to rx scheduled drugs, meaning a doctor in Daytona rx medications for anything like lorazepam...that being said, I did not find her to be a very pleasant person. I only saw her for a total of 3 (three) visits. She gave me a hard time, harassed me about being on pain medication. At the last visit, she harassed me about the pain medication..at the 2nd visit, she probably spent the better part of 10 minutes berating me about the pain medication, which I obtain legally from a legitimate DOCTOR, not a MED NURSE...She even interupted my counseling session to harass me about my pain medication. She made me take a drug test-I ended up standing in the hallway, patients and staff walking by, holding a cup of my own urine for ?15 minutes before anybody, staff included, cared to ask if I needed assistance. This whole episode caused me to have one of the worst panic attacks in several years and ruined my day. I'd take a drug test every day if she wanted to come to my house and test me but i don't use drugs or even drink alcohol. Yet I was stigmatized and insulted because of I'm depressed and deal with pain on a constant basis. She insutted me, saying that my eyes were glassy and i had a 'blunted affect' which was not nice and hurt my feelings and lowered my self esteem even more.

Anyway, she was so impatient with me, wanted to put me on some antidepressant and discarded me like a used.....when I said that I had concerns about the AD...was supposed to fax my records to my PCP, which took almost 2 months and several requests. come to find out, I was sposed to fill out a release...was never told that. And she said she was going to forward my file but never had me take the appropriat steps. Even when i called about it, nobody ever informed me about the release...I'm just a stupid patient that dont know these things. In this time, I ran out of my medication and caused me a great deal of distress, not knowing what to do. I have become more depressed and anxious since I began seeing this (clinician). I can't help but feel like she did these things on purpose, to mess w/me; dnagling my care over my head like that.

totally unethical. Never did she ask me how I was doing, how my meds were working, She never asked if I was suicidal or whatever. whatever happened to informed consent, isn't it my right to have concerns, and ask ?'s about medications? Infact she would ask me something and then wouldn't listen to my response; cut me short; finished my sentences for me. Or played that game where she'd ask a ? and then look down at her papers or around the room and then cut me off as if to say 'I dont hear you and I don't give a rat's a$$ about what you have to say' which pretty much equates to intimidation. This really sux b/c this was my only treatment option within @least a 50 mile radius and now I have nowhere else to go. All I wanted was to get some help. Thanks a lot.

We had a bad parting of ways a couple of years ago when I was in severe manic mode. For 2 years I have tried other mental healthcare providers that did not measure up. Kathleen knows me well and treated me for 4 or 5 years with pretty good success and I am going back to her, because no one is perfect, neither of us and I really just want to be treated by somebody competent who knows me and my family well. Overall 5 stars to Kathleen herself for those several years of almost always stellar care.
