I was seen this week in the Sterling office, I did have to wait a while to be seen because they were busy but I loved how respectful the staff was. The receptionists, the nurses and the doctor were all amazingly helpful and and very professional. I felt like they were very glad to be there, and i felt happy as well and so i would like to thank them very much.

Not a review on Dr Keenan personally but on NOVA Medical Group in general.

Patient for 20 years now , all they now care about is their health spa and "wellness center".

Doctors and other staff member turnover faster than the patient list does.

Appointments with PCP now take over two weeks to get. You can see a nurse practiciner in a couple of days but they have no clue who you are and know nothing about your conditions ( all they get is what is in the computer) and they are designed to put bandaids on and that is about it.

Last straw was my short term disability claim being recently temporarily denied due to no medical records being received from NOVA medical group even after no less then three authorizations to send my medical records being faxed to two different NOVA medical locations (Ashburn and Leesburg) by me and calls from the insurance company and myself as well. I could never get in contact with a real live person and could only leave messages.

In response the insurance company's request, they finally received a copy of my PCP's (doctor's) authorization to send the insurance company my medical records and that was all, no medical records were sent at all and they/ we still waiting.

If you want a "health spa" this is your kind of place but if you are in need of a professionally run medical office that is not being run by high school students or you need a real doctor you can get in contact with in a timely manner when you are really sick, well good luck, I suggest you look elsewhere.

i went to NOVA Med Group in Ashburn this week to get a remedy for this terrible respiratory infection i have been experiencing for two weeks now. i usually see Dr. Noelle, who has always been good in the sense that he is always courteous, sincere, and comprehensive in his consultations. This time, however, i had taken an appt with another doctor because she happened to be the only one available and i had needed a same day appointment. the reasons for which she was "the only one available" when other doctors were booked have since become apparent. Her name was Dr. HOLLY HARRIS. Not only did she repeatedly judge me for my lifestyle throughout my appointment, but she also at times mocked me in front of a residency student who was shadowing her. She talked to me in a condescending manner and, when I asked her if i may be in need of antibiotics as I was coughing up yellow, infected mucus, she laughingly said to the shadower "some people never listen" as if i weren't even there. it was the most blatant form of disrespect i have encountered from a professional in several years. she then told me to go try some Mucinex, an over the counter med, and prescribed me to cough syrup. Then rushed out the door. Horrible MD. I don't know how she made it to be a doctor but it doesn't reflect well on NOVA Med's hiring standards. Today, I am still very sick and have since made another appointment for Dr. Noelle, who will most likely listen to my symptoms and help me get better, instead of mocking me and telling me to take medicine from the grocery store and wasting my money, time, and well-being.

I would not go to Nova Med if you don't have to ... I don't know who the other reviewers are, but my experience was NOTHING like what they are describing. I agree they are a "state of the art-looking" facility and appear neat, but looks aren't everything; especially when it comes to medical practice.
1. EXPECT AT LEAST ONE HOUR WAIT. Visit #1 (Ashburn), I waited 2 hours. Visit #2, I waited about 1 hour. Visit #3 (Warrenton) I waited over 1 hr w/ "apologies" up and down. Visit #4 I waited at least 1 hr (no apologies from Warrenton this time). Nurse-only visit #5 I was the first appt, but waited a 1/2 hr then asked the receptionist how much longer I was going to have to wait and the nurse said "whoops, i didn't see your record. come on back..."
2. POOR COMMON DECENCY. At Ashburn, while essentially topless and reclined on a chair waiting for a procedure, the door to my room opened and at times remained opened while other patients passed by!!
3. LACK OF INTELLECT. The receptionist in Warrenton did not know what a "copay" was and was unable to explain it to a patient when asked (I overheard the conversation and was appalled)!
4. POOR PROFESSIONALISM @ the front desk. While in Ashburn, waiting my multiple hours to be seen, several doctors (?), nurses (?) and others "lounged" behind the reception desk chatting about there night out and making (obvious) non business-like phone calls.
5. GROSS ANATOMY??? Perhaps my expectations are too high, but when my "procedure" was complete, the used (thus, bloody, etc) tools & gauze were left wide open on the counter for me to see while I got dressed. Wouldn't common courtesy suggest the doctor (or at least, attendee) clean that up so I didn't have to view it?!
6. You call THAT thorough?? I had nothing close to what I felt was a thorough exam (mole check). A very quick scan is not considered thorough in my book ... it took all of 20seconds.In general, I felt like an experiment and did not in the least bit feel confident in the Dr/Nurses in Warrenton. The Ashburn folks, I'm afraid just put on a good facade ... Borderline grounds for contacting the medical watch-dogs.

I generally refuse to go to doctors as I think most of them just write a prescription and walk you out the door. NOVA was not only neat, clean and filled with wonderful nurses, but my doctor. Dr. Rena Johnson raised my level of expectations for any doctor to come. She treats you like a person, not a number. After two visits, she remembered that I had an elderly dog and even asked about him. If you want a doctor who cares about YOU, go to Dr. Johnson.
