I have to 'ditto' what Jocelyn said. I went to Dr. Wallace in my home town to keep me from having to drive an hour and to save gas. I had been to a dermatologist in Tallahassee and there were a few moles on my back he said to keep checked. That was several years ago. Since I was a 'sun worshiper' as a teen, I decided it was time to go back and get those moles checked. Just like Jocelyn's experience, he barely glanced at them. There were so many people scheduled that morning I guess he was trying to see as many as he could by noon. He did give me medicine to help me sleep and a steroid creme after calling me a 'picker' (my acne).
I was going to have some cosmetic treatments at his office but I called and canceled after that experience.
i work as a dental hygienist so i know how the whole medical game is played.. i spoke to a nurse, gave her all the OTC meds i was using to treat my melasma, (dark areas in my face), i also ask if he can check all my body. she takes about 15 min asking me questions,wirting stuff down... she leaves.. DR wallace comes in bursting thru the door, as i say HI Dr and as we shake hands he says " yeahh thats melasma, nothing we can do about it...' gives me a15 sec chat on it,,asked me about what ive been using and i go " well wheres the computer were ur nurse has been typing all this??" DUHHH nurse goes out running for it.. i give him the bottles of stuff, Then he says "ok anything else?" i asked him to check my body to which he took less than 10 sec to lift the gown PERIOD nothing else into detail... VERY RUDE and im very disapointed! I can just imagine the "hallway talk.." AHH NOTHING DR SHE HAS MELASMA,, i dont expect drs to be my "friends" but to take the time to really check and maybe just "look" concerned and interested.. next time ill just throw 50$ out my car window and think to myself that i go a skin check!!
at 34 i can understand why patients sue the heck out of drs with this type of fastfood service
