After having a bad birth experience with my first son, I was nervous when I was expecting my second child. I wanted a VBAC, but the midwives group I was seeing had been told by their hospital that they could no longer perform VBACs. So we searched and Dr. Horlacher was recommended by several other moms I spoke to who had had VBACs. Dr. Horlacher was wonderful. We spoke to him about our concerns regarding another c section, and he was honest about our chances for a VBAC, and very supportive. I have a rare blood disorder that complicates pregnancy, and Dr. Horlacher was careful to monitor my bloodwork throughout. When it came time for birth itself, he was supportive of my desire to be able to eat during labor, and to have as drug-free a birth as possible. I succeeded in having a nonmedicated VBAC with a 10 pound baby, and I wouldn't have been able to do so without Dr. Horlacher's support. He is an excellent doctor who listens to his patients and respects their wishes, only advising them if he feels they aren't being realistic. His attitude about birth is refreshing in this age of medically-controlled births.

PROS: Excellent care, respectful of patients
CONS: Only see him every other visit
