This physician is not interested in patient issues. On each of six-plus visits I waited from one to two hours in an exam room. Five months post carpal tunnel release surgery, my hand continues to have limited mobility. I am a professional organist and my ability to perform is more limited than it was before my surgery. Do not allow this arrogant, over-rated surgeon to treat you. His bedside manner is comparable to that of a king cobra.

Overall experience - BAD. Had to re-do my wrist surgery with a more competent doctor.

Attitude - POOR. His attitude is pompous and very detached. He isn't warm or at the very least just neutral.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND him for wrist surgery -- he attempted to reattach a wrist ligament but failed. Then he recommended on follow-up that he just remove all the little bones in my wrist and have it bend without these bones. That sounded wrong to me so I spoke with a hand expert who only does hand surgery and is recognized around the world. He said that removing all the bones would be unnecessary and might constitute malpractice. He recommended fusing the two bones that were separated and not just attempt to reattach the ligament.

BOTTOM LINE: There are much better surgeons in the LA area, for example, the UCLA Hand Center in Santa Monica has some of the best surgeons who focus only on the hand & wrist. I have seen them and they are much better qualified and produce much better results than Kulber.
