Most neurosurgeons are pompous jerks because they play God everyday. Dr S is probably the most down-to-earth guy in the world. He is very intelligent, spends a great deal of time with you, explains everything, listens to everything you have to say, he asks you to describe your pain and if you say it feels like lightning bolts, or hot gravel or whatever he knows what you are talking about! He looks at the "whole picture" before he will do a surgery. When I first met him I was unsure because he's old-fashioned and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of high dollar offices but I can tell you first hand the guy is great! Because of him I can use my left arm again! My left arm was paralyzed due to pain from a compressed nerve in my neck! He did the surgery, that was 3 yrs ago. I just went back for lower back surgery, I hope I never have to have another surgery again but if I do I want him to do it. No one else.

Surprisingly good and helpful. Unimpressive office and unassuming doctor but very intelligent and well versed in his profession. Able to inform us of what the problem was and to present us with possibilities for treating it. No wait time at all. Office easy to get to. Flexible in working arond our scheduling problem.

PROS: No wait
CONS: Might be tempted to underestimate abilities
