In my opinion Dr. Namhi Lee is the best Family Medicine Doctor I have had the privilege of being treated by in my 54 years. She has been my primary care doctor for the last 7 years during a time in my life where medical problems crop up at an alarming rate. I tease that she is like finding a great mechanic. It is a rarity for me to find someone who is trustworthy, professional, knowledgeable, truthful, and ALWAYS has my best interest as her goal. If a specialist is needed, she doesn't hesitate to refer you to them. She will prescribe you the latest proven medicine or recommend an herbal solution or acupuncture. Her knowledge of Eastern and Western medicine works like insurance for my peace of mind. She does not order unnecessary tests, and never rushes your visit. One of her other outstanding traits is that she LISTENS to her patients and makes diagnosis without judgment. She treats me as a WHOLE person, where my body parts are connected to a certain lifestyle, culture, and spiritual life with real wants and needs. On those few occasions when a specialist delivers their diagnosis, I immediately consult with Dr. Lee, because she is the only professional I TRUST with my life.

Sincerely,

C. A.

I have been seeing Dr. Namhi Lee for 4 years. The first time I went to see her was for sinus infection for which she gave me acupuncture in the ears. I had no sinus headaches, infections or pressure pain at all for one year afterward. I use to get sinusitis and headaches every month and infections at least 4 times a year. So having no infection for one year I went back to Dr. Lee 1 year later and was good for another 2 years. This year I already had four sinus infections and went back to Dr. Namhi Lee. I am very happy with the results that I have been getting from seeing her.

STAY AWAY FROM HER!
I went to Dr.Lee Namhi's office for an annual check up and I wish I had walked out of her dirty office before I used up my 1 time/year insurance covered check up. She is very disrespectful and blaming all my health issues to 2 cups/day coffee and 2 glasses of wine/wk. If she is a healthcare provider, she should've approached her patient with medical perspective, not her strange view on religion. Is it even legal? I'm a Christian but was offended by the way she approached me and she said it's the evil spirit that is making me feel sick and I should pray hard to drive the spirit away and be saved by God. I told her I have occasional heart pain and she just brushed me away and wouldn't listen to my problems. Only 5 min of medical consultation while I was there for 2 hours and the rest was her nonstop preaching.
She was constantly judging me with her view on religion and made me feel like I'm a bad Christian and should be end up in hell. Not exactly what I want to hear from my once a year doctor's visit. Her office is so dirty with cat litter and dog who jumps all over you. I wish I can report her to Dept of health and my insurance company. She is a fraud. She can't even draw blood and stabbed my arm with needle many times while she was praying out loud and searching for God. It was a surreal experience! She couldn't draw blood and I got very scared that I had to just come out. The office was so dirty and sticky that it made me to question if the needle she used on me was a new one or not.

I've been to a decent number of doctors over the years since I tend to move a lot and am pretty good at sniffing out doctors that care about your wallet vs doctors that care about your health. Dr. Lee is definitely in the latter category.

Dr. Lee makes being a doctor look easy - namely because she is brilliant, and pays the utmost attention to her patient's needs. In addition to having mastered the traditional forms of Western medicine, she also offers remedies that are actually simple and effective - yet probably unthought of by a typical patient. For example, she was able to advise me on the power of stretching in terms of healing my foot, and urged me to stretch properly when she noticed that I was not doing it correctly; as a direct result, my heel spur is gone. Also, she continually encouraged me to change my bad eating habits although I would not always follow her advise. Eventually, in most part due to her persistence, I finally began to start eating healthy and exercising. I am feeling better than I have been in a long time.

I have recommend her highly to family and friends seeking medical attention.

By the way, I love her office space. It is not a typical Dr's office that looks institutional. On the other hand the office is gorgeous with an Eastern decor. I do not mean to call anyone racist; however if you have something against Asian culture then you probably would not apreciate the beauty of this office.

Happy New Year everyone and let us toast to good health in 2011.

First, the only reason I gave this barely functioning psychotic one star is because this site wouldn't accept my review without one. So here goes... Dr. Lee's so-called "office" looked like an inner city crack house at best, a seedy whorehouse on a good day, or an illegal abortion clinic at worst. When I arrived, her gangly, nerdy brother asked, "WHO ARE YOU?" What a charming bedside manner, I thought. He didn't believe I had an appointment until he called her on his cell phone to verify I was telling the truth. When I entered this toxic waste dump, I was immediately tempted to ask, "Is there a bathroom in this toilet?" The place was a mess. As I waited on a wooden bench that was eerily reminiscent of the Spanish Inquisition, a big black dog came up to me and began humping my leg. Charming. Veterinarian services, no extra charge! Then I watched in numbed silence as her entire family ate lunch on the threadbare sofa. "Care for some salad, Grandma"? little brother asked, as I battled the nauseous aroma of food combined with the overpowering odor of ammonia from the freshly mopped stairs wafting through the open door. This wasn't a professional doctor's office, it was the overcrowded hovel of a Third World country. I almost expected to see a herd of goats walk by. Before I even finished filling out the new patient forms which she had hastily thrown together, I quickly changed my mind, bolted for the door, and never came back. She may have been the greatest doctor on earth, but I was too freaked out by this truly surreal experience to want to find out. Any positive reviews you may read here are either created by her own family, paid shills, or escaped patients from the local laughing academy. How she even HAS a business after all these years is a miracle of Biblical proportions. Anyone foolish enough to still see her after reading this, remember: I warned you. Welcome to the wonderful world of Medicaid.

I completely agree with CSMobileUser, nyclocal8675309, MeganRF, and al_eeas 1 Lee...

First of all, I am religious... and do not need a doctor to tell me I need God to heal. She clearly has family issues. My mom and I are best friends and when I went on to discuss how my mom is religious... she went on to bash her mom... and mine... Prejudgment is not characteristic of a christian. Yes, prayers work... but preach to the damned... I'm not one of them... I have a condition and need a normal Primary Care Physician... One that would be fairly knowledgeable and not loose with a few screws... I need medical opinions... God has been there for me hence despite the severity of my situation I lived. For a doctor to think that keeping an animal in a doctor's office is irrational... The waiting area was in unkempt working conditions for a doctor's office, but not as worse as the examination room... I was literally afraid she'd stick one of her nasty instruments in my mouth. She made the assumption that I'm not religious and tried to coerce me to her church. When I attempted to explain my position on religion, she brushed it off to say her's was better. Am I seeing a doctor or a preacher? I don't need a 1.5 hour sermon... and a 10 minute diagnosis... to resolve nothing... and pay money towards a complete QUACK!

I am known to have severe allergies. I walked into her doctor's office in Midtown East... as I was filling up paperwork a cat brushed up against me. In addition to the unkempt working conditions for a doctor's office she made the assumption that I'm not religious and tried to coerce me to her church. When I attempted to explain my position on religion, she brushed it off to say her's was better. Am I seeing a doctor or a preacher?

Pros: Nice

Cons: Unhygienic

.

The office doesn't resemble anything of a doctor's office. There was an old man trying to convince me to buy some vitamins and when I got to see her, she tried to convince me to go to her church and told me to stay away from the prescription I came for, yet she wrote me the same prescription she told me to stay away.

At least she was hot. I'd go back again for prescriptions and to see if I'd get lucky with her. But definitely not for any legit medical reasons.

I've been seeing Dr. Lee for nearly 10 years. For me there is no better Dr. anywhere. She has diagnosed and treated 3 severe issues for me where other traditional Doctors had failed and prevented 2 recommended surgeries. Yes, you have to listen to her talk about Christ but that is a small price to pay for feeling better. Are people really that simple and pathetic that this would actually bother them. She doesn't sweet talk you, "poor you", "I know how hard it is" nonsense. She says it like it is...I don't mind a little tough love. If all the Doctors did this a little maybe we wouldn't be such a sick nation. I remember her when her father did the blood pressure screening and there were 2 cats roaming around. All I cared about was that the gallbladder that the other doctors said needed to be removed was in fact "cured" in 3 weeks of her recommended treatment. The back that needed to be "fused" was pain free after 3 acupuncture sessions. I enjoy being told to lose weight and cut-out coffee and stop sitting on the couch giving in to temptations (junk food and beer). Its true and I need to be reminded. If I could actually follow her directions I am sure I would be a much more health and happy person. But as she points out the Devil (or is it the devil within) wins too often. For those who want to feel better go see her, everyone else, stop whining and go take 2 aspirin. I'll take a real cure any day. I recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Dr. Lee is a kind, gifted, devoted healer. Her roots in Korean and Eastern medicine and training in licensed massage therapy and acupunture, as well as her Smith College education, NYU Medical School training, make her a rare mix. She analyzes your lab work and total profile with care and intelligence and is willing to work with you on a wide array of problems that require thinking inside and outside of the box. If you want a doctor who is not just bored and fed up and out to pump you for money and whose ethics you may not be certain about, go ahead and see someone else!

This doctor is totally nuts, from the second I met her all she talked about was battling with the devil, and how unworthy we both were. She could care less about why I was there, then finally when we discussed my condition and how I treated it it in the past, she started screaming at me for taking med's that she didn't approve of, this was in between her yelling at me about drinking coffee. To make everything about the visit even crazier, she writes me prescriptions for exactly what she was screaming about 5 minutes ago. If you're ready for a surmon that lasts about 45 minutes before you can get anywhere then go see her, at the end of it all she will give you a script for whatever you want..but don't say I didn't warn you about this nut job!!

Been to a few physicians in the city. Had great experiences with other area doctors.

Dr. Namhi evangelized well but neglected her medical responsibility and had to be reminded repeatedly the reason for visit. Forgot important details of medical history covered during consultation. Recommended spiritual solution for medical problem. Patient became irritated after 20 min (honestly) of spiritual discussions and informed Dr. Namhi of the name and dosage to be prescribed. Dr. Namhi then wrote the script without questioning the patients diagnosis (really weird experience).

Sadly, I'm concerned she hasn't had her license pulled by the state. She seems disinterested in her role as a medical doctor and more than willing to write a script for whatever the patient requests without any discussion of risks or alternatives courses of treatment. But if your looking for a push over physician in midtown who will write any script and fold like a cheap paper napkin, she's a good candidate.

This lady is NUTS... I thought she would be a good doctor because she attended a reputable school (NYU) but NO.... she basically told me that I was "in a spiritual war" with myself, and that I needed to get saved by Jesus. She was unethical and frankly incoherent. Do NOT recommend this doctor.

Spent over an hour with me. You'd think that would be a good thing, but 45 minutes of that time she was telling me about her church and her life. On top of that what i went in for wasn't resolved. An overall bizzare experience.
