During my consultation for a dental implant, Dr. Lentz was unprofessional, uninterested and uninviting of questions. As he walked into the room, he avoided eye contact with me and instead talked to the x-ray he was holding. When I brought it to his attention that I observed the young lady that took my x-rays share them with the front office receptionists over a laugh, I questioned as to what medical need-to-know basis they had to view my information. Dr. Lentz quickly sidestepped my concern by attempting to sell me on having my wisdom teeth out. Only after I used the word ??unethical? did he return to the subject only to say something along the lines of, ??They see everything in this office anyways?. While that may be true, it was a violation of my privacy that, unbelievably, took place in front of me and others waiting in the lobby.

In addition, Dr. Lentz??s paternalistic nature was apparent in that he appeared to be frustrated by the fact I was semi-knowledgeable of the procedure. He clearly had a script that when deviated from, made him uncomfortable. He gave few direct answers to my questions and instead made it clear that he had great prices and I that I wouldn??t find a better deal. While there is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Lentz??s price structure is very competitive, the pressure he must feel as a result of the volume he needs to make money was apparent to me. No patient should feel like they are being sold anything and it was painfully clear to me what was happening when Dr. Lentz had me sit with his secretary so she could ??confirm the sale??.

I hear that he has practiced for many years and he may, in fact, do excellent work. He was just never even close to getting the opportunity to utilize his years of experience on me, even if he is a ??great deal?.

This guy is great. I have had 5 implants done by him just using novacaine (I was awake) and the procedures were mostly painfree and trouble free. I did have problems with one of the implants that failed but he replaced it (at no additional charge) and now its good. Whenever I have a question he's available. His staff is professional. Perhaps a bit expensive but well woth it. I have since moved to California and am now looking for a new dentist but I'm considering flying back to Tempe to see him because I have that much confidence in his work. Look no further, this is the guy to see.

I am currently a patient of Dr. Lentz. I am in the process of getting my second implant by him. The first one went very well and this one seems to be going well too. I did not get dry socket thankfully. Dr. Lentz is probably the best oral surgeon I've ever had. Office is not glamorous but it is comfortable and everyone is very nice. I have total confidence in Dr. Lentz and would refer him to anyone without hesitation. He even called me later that evening to see how I was doing after my extraction- very unusual!

Dr Lentz was referred to me by my personal dentist to get my wisdom teeth pulled. His staff was wonderful, and as friendly as ever, but I arrived at 1:30pm and did not leave until 5:30 pm, after they told me it would take 20-30 minutes for the procedure. After giving me oxygen, I was very uncomfortable and felt as if i could not breathe and they paid no attention. While putting in the IV for anesthetic, Dr Lentz missed my vein and threw the needle into the sink, and attacked my arm again while i was complaining of pain. He pays no attention what so ever, the wait is longer than it should have to be, and after a week I noticed that a piece of my tooth had been left behind, and now have to get it removed by someone else.

Because my dentist missed the fact that I had 2 wisdom teeth and not just one, I had removal surgery twice with Dr. Lentz. Both times it was as pleasant as possible. I didn't have any of the problems my husband had with his (at a different dentist). The office is older and not "pretty" however, the skill of the doctor makes up for it.

PROS: Friendly and Competent Doctor
CONS: None

My regular dentist recommended that I get my wisdom teeth out, he recommended Dr Lentz. I ended up going here and I have to say this way the easiest it could have been. He was great. I did get dry socket, which I did not feel. But Dr Lentz made sure that I had it packed properly and I did regular check ups for a couple of weeks. He was great through the whole process and I would recommend his services to anyone.
