She's a great doctor, very smart, professional and nice. She can sheer you when you feel worry about something and always take the time to explain everything very well. She deliver my baby boy and I had to be induced, she was just great, I always felt relaxed and in good hands.

I would recommend anyone to Dr. Polko. She is straight forward, she doesn't BS you about anything and she has always been very thorough. She's very professional and she takes as much time as needed to make sure you're comfortable and that you understand everything before leaving your appointment. Appointments can be difficult to schedule with her, though. She delivered my daughter back in 2007 and I'm currently pregnant with my second child. I'm really hoping she delivers my baby this time too. I also LOVE Anne Naru (a Nurse Practitioner). She is just as wonderful as Polko. I'm not very comfortable with Shonekan or Davis, particularly Davis. I feel rushed everytime I'm seen by him and have asked repeatedly not to have appointments with him. He makes comments that I don't feel are appropriate- like he doesn't think before he speaks, I don't feel as though my questions are answered and I feel that my concerns are dismissed by him. But, they are all wonderful at what they do, whether you like their mannerisms or not. I would recommend them to anyone.

I started going to this practice 2.5 years ago when I first found out I was pregnant with my first child. At that time, there were only 2 doctors and one nurse. The practice has grown to include another doctor, another nurse, and more office staff. The wait to see the doctor/nurse used to be an issue; however, this has improved over time (with the addition of new staff). I have seem all of the doctors and nurses. I like everyone there. The office staff is helpful and willing to direct your questions to the appropriate person. Dr. Polko has a good personality. Dr. Shonekan is my favorite, but she is the one who delivered my son, so I might be biased. Dr. Davis is personable. I would recommend this practice to anyone, in fact I have recommended them. My first pregnancy was very uneventful and I had no issues that would have required more attention. With my current pregnancy, I have had a few issues that have required more attention, and the nurses and doctors have been on top of the situation...contacting me everyday to inquire about how I felt and to schedule me for additional testing, etc. I did read one complaint on here about scheduling appointments. For pregnancy related appointments, it is easy to schedule appointments.

I have been a paitent there for 2 years now. I went there becuase I heard that they were really good. When I first started going there everything was great. Within this past year the treatment starting going downhill. I had to have a surgery done, and everything went well, they called to check on me and everything was great. Since then I have called in regards to some other conditons and I was told that the triage nurse will contact me back. And she contacted me the next day, however by that time I had to call another OBGYN to seek help. It is very hard to get an appointment at this office. You will recieve your post card as a reminder to set up an appointment and even if you call that same day they are already booked into the month or 2 after. So my recommendtaion would be to write it down on every calander you look at daily to make sure you are seen when your supposed to be seen. I think that Dr. Polko and Nurse Practrioner Anne Neru are great doctors, I just feel that they have taken on to much then they can handle. I wil continue to go there, however I am looking into swithing doctors. I want to know that if I have a problem MY DOCTOR will be able to contact me asap. And to know that I will be able to get an appt. if a semi-emergency comes up, (Something other then ER realated). I would like to stay with one OBGYN before I start having children.

I wouldn't recommend this doctors office to anyone. I have many medical issues. I seen Dr. Davis once. He put me on Lupron in which I am having horrible issues with, side effect wise. I have called numerous times in the 3 months i've been getting these shots to get an appointment and every time I call they say the nurse will call you. It's BS, I need to see the doctor not talk to some nurse on the phone. So I just wanted to let whoever reads this know that they are very impersonal and good luck getting an appointment because they don't give a crap. I will be finding a new doctor even if I have to drive 45 minutes to an hour. I'm done with these people!

I needed to find an OBGYN when I moved from Baltimore to St. Mary's. Dr. Polko was excellent. I had no problems making an appointment and she was very nice. I did have to wait a bit long in the waiting room one time when I went, but otherwise no issues. Her nurse was great as well. I would definitely recommend.

When I was pregnant I switched to a different ob/gyn and I must say that I made the best choice!! Dr. Polko and her staff are absolutely wonderful! I delivered my child at the beginning of February and Dr. Polko did a great job of keeping me informed of what was going on and what she was going to do. She never left me "in the dark about anything" if I had a question about something and i called the office her staff always did a GREAT job at promptly returning my call with an answer to my question or Dr. Polko would call me back herself. She did a great job all thru my pregnancy and afterwards! I will never switch ob/gyn again!! Dr. Polko will deliver any other babies I have!!
