.

I was scheduled for a morning appointment, after waiting 2.5. months to get in to see the doctor. Somehow, Dr. Lucas was scheduled to perform a procedure at the hospital during my appointment time. I was not notified in advance that she wasn't available--in fact, I received a call from the office the day before confirming my appointment time. I waited over an hour before I had to leave to go to work, after having been told that the doctor would arrive any minute. Dr. Lucas agreed to come in early one day the next week to see me, since the mistake had been hers/the office's. I called the day before, confirmed my appointment with Bill, her medical assistant, and again arrived to find out that the doctor was not at the office. No explanation was forthcoming. I waited-- again--over an hour before I had to leave to go to work, and I--again--was not able to see the doctor. At this point, I had driven to the office twice, paid my copay, paid for parking twice and still had never actually conversed with the person I had come to see.

I was able to get a refund for my copay and for my parking (both times) from the office manager, but I'm finding a new gastroenterologist. Dr. Lucas has wasted enough of my time.

Pros: a nicely decorated waiting room for the hours I was there

Cons: doctor isn't even in the office during schedule appointment
