Wisdom teeth extraction...

Dr. Lovoi removed two wisdom teeth for my husband. Everything went well we though. My husband went to the post op visit and even though he was complaining of some lingering pain, was told that everything was fine and that there was no bone fragments or anything.

Lo and behold, 3 days after the post op, bone fragments began working their way out of his gums. He was still experiencing a good amount of pain and couldn't tolerate anything with a high temperature differential. I called the office and explained the problem. She offered him an appt between 12:30-3:30 p.m. I asked for an early morning appointment since the nature of my husbands job doesn't allow him to leave mid-day. The receptionist said she would have to explain to Dr. Lovoi and get back with me. When she called back, she said that Dr. Lovoi said that he could ONLY see him between 12:30-3:30. I told her that wouldn't work and she said, well I can't work around that. I kindly told her that from now on, we would seek oral surgery services with another doctor who was more apt to work around their patients schedules instead of their own.

We WILL not be back to see Dr. Lovoi, not will we refer him to any of our friends or family. I'm sorry, but when you're providing a service, you really should try to work with your patients schedules. Some people just don't have the flexibility to bend at a doctors whim and oral surgeons are a dime a dozen.
