Its so sad that someones son was addicted and died, when im sure there was a reason to get the Oxycontin medication at one time. So of course someone in this situation took advantage of Doctor and kept requesting medications, reappearing for appointments etc. Did you all see the videos how this person was acting when infront of Dr Sweet for more meds...Crying, couldnt move, said he was in pain, couldnt breath ! All was an act. So of course any Doctor would do the same. Prescribe pain meds to get there patient out of pain... Hmmm sad that you all dont know the real story. Dont Judge until you all know the real story...

This is in response to all the people who expect your doctor to police your behavior. RN with the son in a coma - where were you. As an RN and mother - you better than any one should have know of your son's condition and problems. Did you try to contact his doctor, better yet why was your drug addict son in Phoenix without you. Mom that you are it is the patient, family and then the doctor. What kind of help did you provide for your son? ALL medical professionals rely on the patient for help with their care... and ultimate repsonsibility lies with the patient.

Priority Care Clinic (Dr. Sweet's office) has been sending me invoices trying to collect money that is not owed them. I have been leaving messages with their office trying to get a return call to discuss the error in billing. I also called my insurance company who called on my behalf and left a message with them to no avail. It is unfortunate that the Dr.'s office is having an investigation going on but they could at least return calls to their active patients. This is not the first time our family has had issues with billing and other non billing issues that I won't go into now. It just seems that their team of people have been going downhill over the years. Very frustrating!
Signed, An ex-patient looking for a reliable Dr's office.

Dr. Sweet as been my familys doctor for 6 years now, has never been unprofessional, and has provided the upmost excellent care for me and my children. As for these reports blaming Dr Sweet for your drug addicted children, you are the cause and they would lie, steal and get what they wanted one way or the other. I believe his allegations to be false, as these people were not honest and truthful as you should be. I support this dr and no ONE in this world is responsible for putting a gun to their heads except THEM

So, I was googling Dr.Sweets webpage to see if there were any updates on the reason(s) for ...the office not returning my calls; and I ran into this site and just now found out that Sweet is or undergoing an investigation. If you ask me, I guess you can say that I'm not surprised. I have been going to Sweet for a few years now, my family did always questioned my medication and the consumption of it. I figured since a doctor prescribed it.....there was nothing wrong with me taking ALL the meds that were given to me. I can happily say that I have taken myself all these medications including Xanax, AMbien, and Percocets. I did read how some of Dr.Sweets patients were drug abusers etc, I agree with some of you folks.....its not Dr. Sweet's fault that alot of patients fake the funk when they went to see him. But one thing that I do blame Dr. Sweet for, is not being aware of a patients on going of the intaking of medications. I was one of those victims. If it wasnt for my family and friends pointing out that I was on the meds for too long...who knows how much longer I would have been still taking the aboved named drugs. And who knows how much longer I would have in life. If you meant well Dr. Sweet......Good Luck to ya.

Can the patients above named Meme M. and Linda I. please get in contact with me. There is an investigation into the Suspended Medical License of Dr. Sweet and the Priority Care Clinic which was disolved in 2008 by the Arizona Corporation Commission. They are still taking patients.

RN in Salem OR - my heart goes out to you and your family.

Dr. Sweet was my son's physician. My son died 12/31/09. Accidental overdose. He was on the same meds as your nephew. How can you give such strong pain meds to a patient as well as ambien? Ambien is known to make you do things you don't remember. I'm glad his license was pulled. My son will never see 30 - I hope this doctor NEVER is allowed to practice again.

I have ben a patient for 7 years. He has seen my son on an emergency basis when his pediatrician was not available. He sits with me, talks with me....has listened to me cry over my chronic illness and how it has destroyed my day to day life. He is always willing to discuss alternate therapies like acupuncture and nutritionists, He talks with my son about school and always praises me on how well he is raised for someone with my conditon. When he found out my colon ruptured, he called my family to check on me. He has never been dishonest with me or unkind. He has the best bedside manner and is always happy to help. He is willing to work with you on billing if you are low on funds. I have referred many patients to him and will continue to do so. I wish all doctors were as kind and caring as he is. Even opening his practice on weekends. I don't why the office is temporarily closed but I am sure it is for a good reason. I wish him nothing but the best. And as for narcotics, after my colostomy,he always recommended a pain management clinic and set me up with home health care repeatedly for iv hydration and port o caths. He is very willing to refer you out. We switched to him on a recommendation because our previous doctor didn't even call to say my son's test results showed pneumonia after repeated attempts to find them out. We called daily and even drove down there and were told that they had no results. I found many similiar stories about tat particular office and we ran to Dr. Sweet's and have never looked back. It wasn't until the E.R helped us. We adore him. Thank you, Dr. Sweet

I have been seeing Dr. Sweet for 5 years. I have cronic pain and have suffered from depression and anxiety attacks for the majority of my life. Dr Sweet has taken the time to understand my illnesses and treat them without making me feel bad about the medication I take. I have to agree with the last comments I read. It is up the paients to take medication as prescribed and not abuse them. Addicts will say anything to get meds and make good doctors look like the bad guy.

Dr. Sweet has been my primary care physician since he took over the practice, 6-7 years ago. The office hours are very accommodating, especially if you have a child and need to be seen quickly with short notice. Dr. Sweet is a great listener and is very attentive. He takes all the time you need to explain your medical issues and go over prescriptions.
I am also a chronic pain patient and must say that Dr. Sweet would have never written me any opiate prescription without proper medical documentation/evaluation. Once a doctor writes a prescription, it is the patient's responsibility to take as directed. I wish people would stop blaming doctors for the actions of some patients. Those addicts that work the system and misuse doctors are the ones that ruin proper pain management for those of us who need it and do not abuse it.

My nephew is currently in a chemically induced coma I a Phoenix ICU due to Opiod addiction. Dr Sweet has written RX's for Oxycontin, Xanax, and Ambien to a young man who is a drug and alcohol abuser and is now fighting for his life. His license to practice medicine should be revoked. He does not have a phone number to acces him after hours for emergencies, very odd?? Please pass this on to avoid anyone else's misfortune with this doctor.
