WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never encountered an office that gives such service and is so beautiful. From the moment I walked in till the time I left, Everything and everyone was first class. The hygientist and Doctor spent so much time with me answering every question and my options. I never felt pressured or like I was being "sold" anything. They very extremely knowledgable about my insurance. I really appreciated that . I know nothing about insurance. I called my insurance company for a referral, They suggested Dr. Mader. That was so impressive to me. I drive over 45 minutes to this office even though there are some much closer. I knew he was a Michigan grad and was impressed with the review he received when I contacted the dental department. I feel that his office truly cares about me as a patient and a person. I have referred many of my family and friends and they all rave about Dr. Mader and his staff. I walked in as a phobic and walked out as a friend.

I needed a dental physical form filled out for employment, and I went to the first dentist to have an available appointment, which was Dr. Mader. Bad Plan! I should have asked for a price before I went! Just a checkup and cleaning cost me $180!!! Every dentist Ive talked to since then says that is obscenely overpriced! I guess they felt bad I was uninsured, so they gave me the x-rays complimentarybut then gave me only a terrible copy and wouldnt send a decent copy to me or my employer unless I paid, which seems to me just rude; typically your own medical records are something you have access to. As if that wasnt bad enough, I was also lied to by Dr. Mader. After initially commenting on what nice, strong teeth I had, he then proceeded to find two matching cavities on the x-rays; one between the back two molars on my left, and one on the right. These were diagnosed by very faint shadows on the x-rays. Im no expert, obviously, but they didnt look like anything critical to me. However, in his words, one was 80-90% decayed through the enamel, and one was 90-100% through the enamel. He said they had likely been growing worse for over a year. The estimated bill for repairing these was around $800again, obscenely, greedily overprices according to other dentists and review sites online. I asked if there was any possibility of using fluoride/ enamel toothpaste to treat it and he said no, he was unwilling to consider any other plan. It had to be filled or the cavities would be through the enamel and into the main body of the tooth, and then roots, in just a few months.
Upset and unwilling to pay that much to fill cavities that had caused absolutely no pain or sensitivity for the supposed year they had them, I went to get a second opinion from a very experienced dentist with a very experienced hygienic staff. They poked and prodded and took their own x-rays, and DID NOT find two matching cavities that were almost completely through the enamel. They found nothing on one side, and one side had a shadow on the x-ray. They said that there was a faint possibility that was a very new, very small cavityNOT 80% decayedand most certainly not worth filling; although the lack of pain, sensitivity, and inability to feel anything when using the tools that they poke teeth with means that it is probably not a cavity. Just in case, they gave me some fluoride and Pronamel paste, and said I would be fine. That appointment was a couple months since meeting with Dr. Mader, and its been a few months since then. Still no signs of cavity, as he had proclaimed!!!
From his practice, his focus on cosmetics, and his insistence on drilling and filling strong, healthy teeth shows that Dr. Mader is more interested in making obscene amounts of money, and not at all interested in the actual well-being of his patients. He would rather push them into spending massive amounts of money to do procedures that dont need to be done at all, and is unwilling to provide alternatives that would be appealing to the patient. I was disgusted with my experience there, and will be recommending against him to all my friends and family.

HORRIBLE. first i had perio maintenance and i had no problems. then i went back for 6 fillings. dr. mader drilled on my teeth BEFORE i was numb. the nurse that finished the fillings ripped my hair and cut the corner of my mouth. they would not give me a doctors note for work the next day. 2 days later im in EXCRUCIATING pain. EXCRUCIATING.. and this is coming from someone that has had brain surgery and had no pain compared to THIS. i wake up at night in sweats and fever from the pain. my fear is that my teeth are infected. either he did something wrong or my teeth are infected. ive NEVER had this happen from a dentist before. i am consulting an injury lawyer also.

First, Dr. Mader and staff are kind, friendly, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I have received quality care and generally feel that the professionals there are competent in their field.

What I find so off-putting about this business is the constant emphasis on insurance benefits. They knew more about my dental insurance benefits than I do, and work hard to utilize every last dollar even if the item is unnecessary. When I first went there, I was given a custom made night guard and bleaching trays "because [my] insurance covers it." Ya, it's nice to have bleaching trays, but I should be given them because my insurance pays for it....They also send out letters and emails telling you how much you have left in insurance benefits for the year and encouraging you to call them to find out how to use up the $.

Bottom line: competent care, highly suspicious insurance billing practices. Also, my last 3 appointments I had to wait over 45 minutes, and then had to reschedule a procedure because they were running so late they didn't have time. I've since switched dentists.

Fears are pointless because Dr. Mader AND his staff are THAT good. I had BAD dental work done a long time ago and have been terrified to go back for nine years. Then I chipped a tooth badly, one of my front ones too so it was embarrassing. I called AFTER hours and they didn't care I wasn't a patient yet, they worked me in the next morning! My fear of needles was laughable because he was already half done with the first injection before I even realized he was GIVING me one.... I thought he was still poking around looking! :) I didn't feel ANY pain, hardly any pressure at all either.... The work they did was so remarkably fantastic you can't even tell how bad I damaged my tooth. I love that place... I can't wait to go back.

The staff at Dr. Maders are wonderful. the are personable and professional. The Dr Mader even went so far as to call me in the evening after my dental work to make sure I was ok.
