On Jan. 24th 2011 I seen Dr. Franke [From Outreach Eye Care] at the nursing home I live at in Carrollton, Mo. My only reason for seeing this doctor was to have a new nose piece put back on my glasses. This Doctor done this repair and I was satisfied with the repair. In May 2011 I decided that I needed to get some new glasses because mine were not working very well any longer. I decided to use a local office rather than use Outreach Eye Care because they have more of a selection of glasses. I made an appt. with a local optomitrist and soon found out that my insurance {Medicaid] would not approve payment because I supposibly had an exam already in Jan. and wouldnt be eligible for another year or so. This exam was billed from Outreach eye Care on Jan.24th 2011. I called Outreach and explained the matter to them and the person I spoke with told me that she had a copy of the exam{Including a full exam and eye diolations} right in front of her and there was no way that this Doctor could have made this up! I explained again to her that the only thing this Dr. did was put a new nose peice on my glasses and if she had an exam from that date it had to be made up because this Doctor did no exam and I had a freind with me that can back that up. I've given them about a month and to remedy this matter and I explained to them that I would turn this in as Medicaid Fraud since they billed for services not rendered. So today I called them back to give them one more chance to fix this. They still insist that this was a legitimate transaction and hung up on me. Afterwords calling the nursing home here and asking them to tell me not to call them anymore. I am very physically disabled but there is nothing wrong with my mind and I would most certainly know if this Doctor had given me an exam. The fact is he only repaired my glasses and that was it! I dont know whats going on with these poeple They may have been doing this to alot of other elder residents for some time and getting away with it, I dont know! But I do know that they made a mistake not taking my accusations seriously because now they can deal with Medicaid fraud and a complaint to the Missouri Board of Healing Arts.
