When I scheduled my appointment, I made sure the receptionist knew exactly why I was coming in and what procedure would need to be done. I got to the appointment, waited an hour to be seen, and then - after a brief, unfriendly "consultation" - she tells me she doesn't have time to do the procedure. And that can't even do it in the office, anyway. Referred me elsewhere and rushed out of the room. So I wasted 2 hours of my day (and gas) to go to a useless appointment that left me with the medical problem I went there to have rectified! So unprofessional, unkind, and rude! Staff was great, doctor is the entire reason I won't be going back.

Dr Marcia Cardelli was the prime example of how NOT to act as a doctor. Towing an assistant she spoke to her and not me. She spoke to her patient (me) as if I were an autopsy patient and she was dictating into a recorder (to her assistant). I didn't feel relevant. She would look over my skin (I had a number of issues) and relay the medical terminology to her asst. I would ask, what is it? She was noticeably frustrated at me. She offered no advice. She admittedly didn't know what a number of skin blemishes were and could not give treatment BUT the one she did know she asked if I had treament and then forgot to give me treatment for it. She was in a hurry as she was behind schedule she said. I left with no treament. I tried to ask her a question after leaving the room and had to wait an hour as she had her asst deliver the question from me to her then the answer from her to me which made things confusing for all involved. She kept this up for an hour, when had she not run out of the room, we could have had a real discussion on my condition. No real discussion with this one. With day old makeup still on her face this one has a real superiority complex and not friendly at all. AVOID THIS ONE!

I went to Dr. Cardelli for an incision one year post surgery that developed a nasty, foul-smelling pustule. She was rude, hurried, and apparently frustrated that I had to bring my two small children who were honestly not doing that poorly (though my son made some crying noises here and there). Even after explaining that I had no one in the area to watch them and my son had autism (hence the noises), she was short in her answers and made a big point to relay to me how inconvenienced she was. She actually asked if I could come back without the children and I told her no, I wouldn't have the money for yet another co-pay when I have to spend $3000 per month out of pocket for autism therapy. I have never had a physician show such little compassion or understanding for a family with obvious special needs. She hurriedly swabbed the area, told me it "WAS NOT" infected, and left the room. Culture did end up negative (I guess I had treated it well enough on my own before her "professional care"). But two years later (three and a half years after surgery), a "dissolvable" stitch came to the surface in my abdomen in the same location where the pustule was (the one that sure looked and smelled infected to me!) I pulled it out and six months later there's still a hole. Thanks for no help, Dr. Cardelli! At least now I know this dermatologist is not just uncaring and rude, but a waste of time and money as well. I'll stick with home treatment (which is probably where she'd say that all children with special needs should be anyway).

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC!!!

Walked in out on a gloomy winder day to Affiliated Troy Dermatologists. One hour wait? Only one patient walked through the door in 45 minutes? Hmm..guess it's better than being outside in the cold?

Needless to say the blonde, late 30's receptionist behind the counter was straight out of the crazy ward! She treated everyone as if they were a child. Sarcastic to the bone. If you were lucky enough to call in on the phone, she would place you on hold to chat it up with the various employees sitting at the computer, simply bitter and talking bad about the last patient.

Maybe the receptionist was a new hire from the local DMV?

I patiently waited in line as the receptionist verbally scolded a elderly lady into tears. I couldn't believe my eyes! My mouth hit the ground!

Marcia, the dermatologist was great. No complaints, she was in and out within 2 minutes and met my needs first hand.

HOWEVER..I have to WARN you that the bill in the mail 30 days later was NOTHING EVEN CLOSE to what they told me it would cost. I carefully went over the prices before being seen. They run a bait and switch operation from the doctor to the billing department!

Apparently there is a $145.00 new patient fee (this was never disclosed). Funny enough, I never signed anything stating I agreed paying a $145.00 fee, as I'm a new patient?
This has now gone to collections. I've never had such a problem in my entire life! Stay away!

Dr Marcia Cardelli is listed as the Top Doc for 2008 and I can see why. She is through and is very current in her field of dermatology. I had to wait a little but it was worth the wait. The complete practice was a pleasure to deal with.

Ask for the younger Doctors. My daughter saw the older doctor and he didn't seem to be up to date on current medications. Also, the wait to see him was about 40 minutes.
