Anne Margolis received her B.S.N. in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, her degree in Nurse-Midwifery from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, and her Master's in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University. She is a licensed midwife in NY and NJ, a licensed OB/GYN nurse practitioner in NY, and is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. Anne has been a homebirth midwife since 1997.
Anne is a doula and a childbirth educator, and incorporates the art of labor support and teaching into her midwifery practice. Anne ‘s hobby is dance; she uses her understanding of the body’s need for muscle stretching , toning and exercise in fun and exuberance, and the human need for serenity and joy, to help women in pregnancy, labor and birth and beyond. Anne is the mother of four grown children.
Anne has extensive training and clinical experience in women’s health and maternity care, in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings, including water birth, using an integrative approach—one that combines the best of modern medicine with natural, mind-body and other holistic modalities. Anne embraces mindfulness, authentic yoga and meditation as skills for life, internal stress reduction and joyfulness.
Anne is passionately dedicated to her homebirth practice, which reflects a more sensitive, personal, humanistic and family centered approach to maternity care, and her confidence in a healthy woman's innate ability to give birth normally and naturally. She is devoted to protecting undisturbed physiologic labor and birth, and the precious moments after birth when parents are meeting and connecting with their newborn babies for the first time.
