.

I will say that this practice is easy to book an appointment at, and their staff is great. I like Dr Billman. However . . . I had a couple bad experiences there before I decided not to go back.

This practice claims to be supportive of breastfeeding, but their advice is very damaging to the breastfeeding relationship. I was told to start giving my 2-month-old rice cereal. At the 9-month check-up, the hand out said to start weaning, but noted that weaning cold turkey could be painful for the mother - no mention of how it would effect the baby!

They also would not allow parents to hold babies during shots. The baby had to lie down on the exam table and basically be restrained. I hated that, and it's really not necessary.

Also on the lovely 9-month handout was the warning that babies of this age are able to manipulate their parents by crying, smiling, eating, refusing to eat, and looking cute. please.

Oh, and I was told at my son's four-month appointment that, if he wakes up at all during a 12-hour night, to just pat him and say, "Time to sleep." He couldn't possibly need anything.

It just seemed straight out of the 1950s!
