A few months after I moved to Seattle, I sprained my ankle.. Not really knowing the area, or (obviously) doctors near my home, my co-worker recommended his family doctor. I was able to get into his office the same day. He was really attentive, took time to find out what was going on, and really listened to what I was saying. I couldnt have asked for a better doctor.

I am a 42-year-old male who has seen Dr. Moscovitz a few times a year from 2005-2010 (and will continue in the future), usually for upper respiratory infections and asthma, but also for a few sports injuries and physicals. I have had some insurance hassles and his office has worked through those dilligently and patiently. He has been there when I have needed him quickly for a serious problem, and he has treated me until I was well. At one point I thought I could get better treatment for recurring upper respiratory infections and asthma, so I spent quite a bit of money and time with 2 different specialists doing testing and various other treatments, and after a few years and thousand dollars I wound up right back with the same diagnosis and treatment Dr. Moscovitz was using in the first place! He also helped me negotiate a reasonable work-from-home agreement with my very meddlesome employer, which was definitely above and beyond. He is sometimes in a hurry, and is not always the life of the party when it comes to chit chat, and one time he forgot that a certain antibiotic didn't work for me and I had to remind him. But when I prepare for my appointment, know my problem and state it clearly and thoroughly, ask my questions, and tell him when I have gotten what I need, he has listened, responded intelligently and with engagement and good challenge/devils advocate/interaction, and provided a valuable service that took care of my health needs. If anybody has given short shrift in our relationship, it has been me and even after that he and his office has continued to provide professional and high quality medical service.

DR MARK J MOSCOVITZ MD Does't care and is short tempered?? - ?? - Today
I was refered to Dr. Mark J Moscovitz MD by my husband of 26yrs. I had been involved in a car accident and needed a Dr. sooner then what my general practice Dr. could see me. After waiting 5 days after the accident for an appointment I finally got to see Dr.Moscovitz. But for all of about 5 to 8 min.. Yes, and I did thank him for finding that my back had been sprained in two places. He suggested for me phyiscal therapy, an over the counter pain reliver and a low dose form of vicodan. He then quickly wrapped up by saying he wanted to followup after 4 weeks and as he walked away and left me in the room he said call him if the vicodan is not effective. I had questioned him about giving me a low grade generic form and inquired if he had checked my polyclinic file. (I was very concerned if it would not conteract with my other medications that my other Polyclinic Rx's) Please note that I have been seen to by several specialists at the Polyclinic since Febuary. I did suffer a major side effect after taking the Rx Dr. Moscovitz had perscribed to me. After taking it as perscibed for 2 weeks and still didn't find relief. I also had Physical therapy too as perscribed. One physical therepist is Amazing James McKenzie. I called the Dr. after suffering for several days and I was in too much pain that I missed one of my visits to physical therepy. BELIEVE ME I DO WANT TO GET BETTER I HAVE AN IMPORTANT JOB TO GET BACK TO!
OMG! WHEN I called last Friday here is what happened. THE Staff was too busy thinking about the weekend.(Remembe and mind you I have been with my husband on his visits! I have been a witness to his pain for over FOUR years! Dr. Moscovitz was his first Dr. after his accident at work. He switched to Dr. West~ who is now with Swedish Dr.s group. BTW)
(The office staff is very young and gossip a lot between phone calls and admitting patients, way too much in fact. I should not know so much about their personal lives while I am waiting minding my own business in the waiting room. They think because they are behind a barrier you cannot hear them. DUH.... guess what your patients can! Opps I digraced.)
After being promissed by Lauren that the Dr. Moscovitz will call me before 5:00pm that day, I waited. Then some young child called and complained that I don't pick up my phone?! OMG this is the Admin Sarah.....I couldn't believe it what a ration of garbage I was hearing from her! Mind you I have been in constant pain for over three weeks and someone is giving me nerve about issues that have nothing to do with medicine. So when I got a chance to respond I relayed to SARAH the facts! I even apoligized if my tone seemed vicious but I needed to speak with the medical professional I had seen that gave me the Rx and discuss what alternatives there would be. That was at about 2:20pm Friday. And ended the call with MY BACK HURTS! Can you believe I didn't recieve a call from DR. MARK J MOSCOVITZ MD until 5:15pm the following MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! And he stated in about my phone line..(funny how we have only have had this phone for a long time and not had any problems before.)..then he said...."after what Sarah and my office staff told me about you I was in NO HURRAY TO CALL YOU BACK!" I said "But Dr. Moscovitz? Are you not a professional?" And he had the NERVE TO AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!! Then after more words between he and I he then made his judgement and then proceeded to FIRED ME AS HIS CLIENT! It was then that I took the opportunity to thank him for the discovery of finding my lumbar and thorax was sprained! I have other relationships at the Polyclinic to but this interuption in my health care is having me look around.
