Several years ago, my husband used to see a male Doctor at Evergreen that I thought was horrible. He was more interested in explaining how he had to escape from El Salvador while working for Doctors without Borders than he was treating his patients locally. When my husband complained of constant headaches and reported that he takes on average 8 Excedrin migraine pills a day, his response was, "What's the matter with that?"

Years later when I was referred back to Evergreen for my own healthcare, I was reluctant, but I found Dr. Sabrina Yon to be friendly and helpful... five years ago.

At the beginning of 2009, I wanted to address my health issues now that I seem to be entering perimenopause. I couldn't get an appointment for a full check up until March. When I showed up in March, they didn't have me scheduled. I had to wait until April.

When I showed up in April, they didn't have me scheduled for a full check up. I paid for an unnecessary office visit. At that time Dr. Yon said, "We need to do a full check up on you in July."

I showed up for my July appointment and once again, I was not "scheduled" for a full check up. I begged for them to please just do a pap smear, but they wouldn't.

When Dr. Yon came into the room, I explained to her how bad I felt and how frustrated I was to once again be paying for a usless doctor's appointment that I could not afford. I wasn't angry, I wasn't mean. I liked Dr. Yon and assumed it was a problem with scheduling.

That was until I got her response, which was absolutely NONE. She pretended like I didn't even speak. She asked me a few questions about my medication, handed me a prescription for another six months and told me to come back then.

When I asked if I should just try to find someone else for a complete check up, she shrugged and said, "You can if you want." She never apologized, she never showed the slightest concern for how I felt as her patient. She was more interested in trapsing around the office with someone's newborn baby.

I have never seen a doctor just flat out act like she had no concern for her patient's well being. What an awful bedside manner. I hope if Dr. Yon ever gets sick herself, that she doesn't have to come across the same indifference with which she treats her own patients. Shame on you, Dr. Yon.
