MONEY HUNGRY - Ive been a patient of Dr. Martinez for many years and have seen his practice move several times. Hes downsized with every move. He went from a full functional staff to a one or two person office. \r

I visited Dr Martinez due to a severe back pain. He did a poor examination just checking if I can walk on my toes and heels and then he prescribed muscle relaxant, and of course pain pills. To my surprise the pain pills were not effective at all and next day I had to call for replacement. I received a new medication (I just lost $45) and to my surprise again it was ineffective ($20 more dollars). I called again and I had to visit Dr Martinez again (2 visits counting and still no results) to receive a new pain medication (Hydrocodone 325MG) 30 pills. I was instructed to take 1to 2 pills every six hours. Finally, the pills were not 100 % working but the pain was acceptable. When the pills were almost finished I called for a refill and after not receiving a refill for about ½ a day I received finally a phone call that he had called the Pharmacy. When I went back home (my wife had to pick up the prescription), I found that he had prescribed 10 pills only (about one day). Again next day I called his office and I was told that I had to revisit Dr Martinez since the medication is narcotic and he had to see me personally. So I had to pay one more visit to Dr Martinez. At that moment I decided that I had enough with him.
First of all I feel that its extremely unethical to have to revisit a doctor to get a refill for a medication.
Second, I am 100% sure, that you do NOT get addicted to pain pills if you had them for three days. I had dentists before giving me many more pills and much higher MGs. I did not needed the pills since I am/was addicted to them but I needed something for my pain without having to pay for a visit anytime that I need a refill.
