Not sure if it's the Dr. or the company rules (Advantage Care Physicians) but during my first visit ( a routine physical) I sat down with Dr. Witt and clearly explained to him that I had trouble with my last Dr. about getting prescriptions written correctly and in on time. I asked him if he thought it was "charity work" (what my last Dr told me) to send in prescriptions. I asked him if he felt that way and he said no, that prescriptions were part of the job. I had my physical and went on my way and the prescriptions were mailed in no problem. I felt he was a decent enough Dr and a pretty nice guy. I was told the system they used for test results was posting them on the myacp website so I would have to look there for blood test results. I signed up for the website but to this day, almost a year later, no blood test results were ever posted. This is despite my telling them several times that they were never posted. Then it came time to re up on my prescriptions and they sent them in but only allowed me 10 days and not 30 of a medication I take daily. I called because I thought this was a simple mistake. First of all you can not ever get in touch with Dr' Witt's office directly. You have to call the central number for Advantage Care Physician and wait for a call back. I also wrote them a message on myacp. It took 2 days to finally get someone on the phone from his office who told me if I wanted the prescription written for the correct amount of pills I would have to come in for an appointment right away. I told them I had no problem making an appt because I needed my physical anyway but I couldn't drop everything and come in in the next 2 days (I only had 5 days of meds left) They said I could wait but I would not get the prescription corrected until I came in. They said I needed a "backup" appt to my physical, which I had never heard of before unless they found something was wrong, and certainly not 7 months later. So they are hustling patients to make appt's by holding their prescriptions hostage. Thats BS.
