I wish i had read the reviews before going to May Grant. They are rude and uncaring. They refuse to listen to me and to other physicians who were concerned with my care. After my csection I was in severe pain.I was treated like a drug seeker. I called every week and finally 9 weeks after my csection they decided to give my an ultrasound. They find that the surgeon had left placenta in me and that because it had been so long it was necrotic and had calcified. They had to do a d and c. I am still in severe pain and its been 22 days since the d and c. I am now going to seek another practice!

COMPLETELY VIOLATED HIPA (the privacy ruling). I am a 20 year old college student and although it is very smart to be tested for Sti's, I do not want my mom knowing this kind of information. So, when I was tested, and they called to tell me the results were in, who did they call ? ...MY MOTHER. After I had signed a paper saying not to involve anyone but myself. DO not trust them with anything

Dr Visneski was absolutely awful. Saw him for infertility and he began by saying I had uncontrolled diabetes due to one hight blood sugar. I explained that my family doctor said he was not concerned because it was only once. Dr Visneski told me that he wouldn't treat me until it was controlled for 6 months. Also said I needed to lose weight before having a baby. He then turned his back and began typing on the computer. After about 15 minutes of ignoring us during which I was in tears, he turned and said "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to you, Is there a problem?" He then told me he needed to do an internal exam which was very painful because he was so rough. During the exam a nurse walked into the room while I was spread eagle opening the door and exposing me. It was awful. I went to a new group 3 months later and am now on fertility medication. DO NOT SEE DR VISNESKI! His license should be taken!

It's such a shame that the front desk staff ruins the great work done by the nurse practitioners. Making an appointment is always a painful process. The staff is quick to say they don't have any appointments even before they start looking at the computer. I was told they don't have an opening for 2 months and then after begging they ??found?? an opening in 2 weeks. When you are checked in they review your info loud enough for the whole waiting room to hear. Your social security number, DOB, the reason for your visit, your job, and address. I was there every 2 weeks for 4 months and every 2 weeks I had to review the same information. This process was time consuming and invasive. It pains me to say because my doctor was so good but I will be finding a new practice because of the front desk staff.

Went to May Grant Assoc. with my 7th pregnancy after moving to the area from another state. I am a high risk pregnancy due to multiple c-sections as well as a history of babies with heart defects. The staff, docs & nurses were always confused & never knew what was going on, they never ordered tests that they said they would, they seemed like they couldn't care less about me or my baby. I couldn't ever see an actual doctor if my life depended on it, and given the risk of my pregnancy I should have only seen doctors not nurses. It was like getting an appointment with the president of the United States to even see a doctor. At one point the medical assistant could not find the baby's heart beat and didn't seem to care or even look into it further, weeks later via ultrasound I found out the baby had died weeks prior!!!! LAZY & WORTHLESS STAFF!!! Beware!! Of all of my pregnancies this was the absolute WORST care I have ever received, EVER! On top of it all the lazy medical assistants would leave confidential information sitting around for the world to see! NO Continuity of care PERIOD! Be careful!

I got pregnant with my daughter at 19 years old. 9 out of 10 times they doctors treated me and my husband like we were incapable of caring for a child. When he asked a question, they were short with him, and when we were asked a question they didn't include him. At one point i was told, he has no say, im the mother its up to me. That was the decision breaker that I would NEVER go to May Grant again. They have a few polite/caring doctors, but majority of them are rude. I left pissed and sometimes crying most of the time after my appts.

I found the May Grant association after becoming pregnant with my second child. I find the nurses and midwives very caring and knowledgeable. They always try their best to make every visit comfortable and relaxed and they always give a little bit of themselves when talking with them. I ask a lot of questions and have always had each question answered immediately, or if they did not have the answer they always got back to me quickly. I do extensive research on my own and have always found them to be truthful and right on par with my own research. Thank you.

I recently had to get blood drawn there, and the woman couldn't find my veins on either arm. I've never had this problem before. She dug with the needle so much I now have a scar on my arm.

I have strugled with severe endometriosis since I was 14. I had two surgeries to remove it but it continues to grow back. I was diagnosed with chronic pain in my lower right abdomen. I went to see Dr. Visneski at May Grant who was the most brutal and unprofessional doctor I have ever seen. he told me my pain was mental and that I don't need an OBGYN, but a therapist instead. I Have never in my life received such poor treatment as I did from Dr. Visneski. if you have an appointment with him, I would highly reccommend cancelling it, or be prepared for verbal abuse, and leaving feeling helpless.

Before I go into my personal experiences with May-Grant, I would like to say a few things. Every patient knows their body better than any doctor. Any patient who doesn't listen to her body and keep pushing when told something that she disagrees with is disrespecting herself, her loved ones, and her care providers. Keep pushing, keep insisting on second opinions, and be INFORMED. If you don't care for the doctor you've seen, do some research and see another doctor for a second ( or third, or fourth) opinion. All that being said, I have had varying experiences at May-Grant. I find that certain doctors are more knowledgeable and caring (Dr. Habecker - INCREDIBLE!) than others (Tedeschi - she's HORRIBLE.) The midwives, on the whole, are excellent. Fortunately there are enough physicians on staff that when I call to schedule, if my preferred doctor is unavailable, I can go to my second choice. Truth be told, it is rare that I can't schedule with whomever I choose. They have seen me through difficult pregnancies, 'normal' pregnancies, displaysia, and miscarriages. Dr. Habecker, by far, outshines the rest (in my humble opinion.) Stay away from that self-righteous, smug Tedeschi. What it all boils down to are these two ideas~ 1.) Be informed. Research your doctor and your diagnosis. Discuss any questions you have about their treatment, and find a doctor that will trust you and work WITH you. 2.) Stick to your guns. If you feel that something is wrong keep shouting that something is wrong. Make someone listen. If you find the right doctor, this won't even be an issue.Once you find that doctor, May-Grant is a great place.

I recently had a D&C procedure with May Grant Assoc. I received great care before, during and after the procedure. I found the staff friendly and courteous. I was able to discuss my options with my doctor and was able to have my questions answered.

I am an RN who continues to work in the medical field, and I have been a patient at May-Grant & Associates for over 10 years. During that time I have had two pregnancies: a twin pregnancy and most recently a singleton. During both pregnancies I have had nothing but a positive experience starting with the receptionists and continuing through with the nurses, triage department, office manager and each of the doctors or mid-wives that had a part in my care. There are a wide variety of providers at the practice who bring many different personalities but at the same time, each one consistently brings utmost concern for the patient & her baby(ies). There were some providers that I "clicked" with more than others and when I scheduled appointments, the check-out personnel were always very helpful in scheduling follow-ups with providers whom I requested. If I had questions or concerns between scheduled OB appointments, the triage department never made me feel as though I was wasting their time and followed-up in a timely manner -- including scheduling an appointment with a provider -- almost always on that same day (again, the nice part about having a number of providers available). My deliveries and the follow-up during each of my hospital stays were wonderful. My experience with May-Grant & Assoc. has been excellent. I will continue to be a patient of the practice and will refer friends and family to them.

I have been permanently damaged by this group of insulting doctors. I was given an unnecessary hysterectomy by, Dr. William Bradford, in this practice, by deceit. I was then insulted beyond the limits of inhumanity by this doctor and several of the other doctors. I am now damaged, sexless and in pain. Do not be fooled by this practice they are in it for the money, and cruel. Please see, hersfoundation, free educational video, "female anatomy", on the web. You are not a ticking time bomb, don't let them trick you.

I agree with everything that woman is saying about her surgery. It is a surgery that is life altering. It destroys your life, your marriage, your family and friends life. It destroys your sexual life and your well being. It is castration ladies when they remove your ovaries, they are your gonads. Your ovaries, uterus and cervix are your sexual hormone producing organs. Guess what happens when they remove them and why do they, FOR MONEY. What other reason would they remove healthy organs that women need the rest of their life. GO TO HERSFOUNDATION and read the blog. Women and men write on there telling their stories. What would happen if they would castrate a million men a year? There would be a law passed just like the Hers Foundation want to do. PLEASE go on line, watch the DVD 'female anatomy' and sign the petition. WE MUST STOP THIS TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SURGERY. I do understand 1% is for cancer and the other 95% is unnecessary. SHAME ON YOU OBGYN'S FOR DESTROYING OUR LIVES AND EVERYONE AROUND US. YOU SHOULD ALSO BE CASTRATED.

I had servere health problems after I fracture my back in 3 places and expluded a disc. May grant swear to me that I could not have any children, and once I asked to be put on birth control because I become sexually active they insisted that there was no need for it. With the back injury that I had, my body wasn't sending nor receiving messages properly, and the pregnancy hormone didn't show up on a pregnancy test. I knew I was pregnant, but they kept telling me no. It took 20 weeks of asking and bugging to finally get a ultrasound, and they didn't schedule it for another 2 weeks. Now being 22 weeks pregnant they said their was no baby. That I gained weight because I was anorxic. The baby's movevments were supposely muscle spasms from my back injury and I had acid reflex! At 32 weeks I went to my family doctor for advice and I walked in and they were like, "Wow, we didn't know you were pregnant." (I was 15, I.E. thats why I wanted birth control) I went back to May grant and they were like, "Oh, yea your pregnant." But now they swear that never saw me in the first place and the I'm crazy. Once the pregnancy was confirmed at 32 weeks and 4 days, they were so rude. The doctors were trying to talk me into adoption, because I coulldn't handle it, and said I was stupid for getting pregnant so young, but they refuse to give me birth control! I one doctor told me that my boyfriend was going to leave me, and I shouldn't let him be there. I went into labor at 38 weeks exactly and had a little boy. My fiance (my son father) and I are engaged, and our son is the greatest thing ever. And yes, I see another doctor and I'm on birth control!

After several years of TTC and several miscarriages, we searched a 3 county area for an OB/GYN practice and ended up with May, Grant Associates. They have always been caring and concerned about our issues, and through fertility treatments, we are pregnant and further than we ever were before. They have been great at scheduling last minute appointments, answering our questions/concerns! We've been told they are the "best" OB practice in the Lancaster/Dauphin/Lebanon area....we definately agree!

After my third day spent in Lancaster General Hospital for severe lower back and abdominal pain as well as continuous, dark bleeding I was seen by an OBGYN from May Grant and he did a laparoscopy. He found some endometriosis and told me he burned it off and got rid of it. After having to stay an additional 2 more days after surgery due to my hemoglobin count dropping so low (still don't have an explanation for that), I was discharged. I never seemed to recover once I got home and within a week, the pain was back and as nasty as ever. It was a Saturday night when it just became unbearable. I called the May Grant office and spoke to Dr. Paul Visneski. I told him how scared I was and that I didn't know what to do. He was very short with me, but told me to go to the triage at Womens and Babies and he would see me. I was wheeled in because my pain was so bad. After a nurse saw me I asked for something for the pain. She said the doctor didn't want me having anything until he saw me. At least an hour past, when in came a nurse with a catheter. I told her I could give a clean catch sample without a problem on my own. She told me however, that she was sorry but Dr. Visneski is insisting on a catheter insertion anyway. I explained I have a bladder disease which cause frequent flare-ups and painful urination and could I please give a sample on my own. She said if I didn't let them insert the catheter, she would write in my chart that I refused treatment. After 3 attempts with 3 different size catheters, me crying out in more pain and my mother begging them to stop, I was given a cup to give a sample. Now that my pain was exacerbated beyond belief and another hour had past, I asked again for pain relief but was told by the nurse Dr. Visneski would not allow it. I waited some more and finally in comes Dr. Visneski as cold and unfriendly as could be. He started questioning me about the anti-depressants I was on, which was completely irrelevant. He then began poking me and decided I was faking everything. He said there was nothing wrong with me and then told my mother I needed psychiatric help. I told him how unprofessional and hurtful that comment was and that I had battled depression and hadn't had an issue with it for years. I told him I was sure if he hadn't seen those medications on my chart he wouldn't be treating me this way. He responded, "well I'm not taking back what I said". I then asked him to please help me because I couldn't even go to work anymore and he responded," what do you expect me to do for you this late on a Saturday night?". I was devastated. My mom asked if I could at least get an ultrasound to make sure everything was OK. He said no. I was sent home that night feeling hopeless and helpless along with my parents. To make a long story short, I went back to May Grant to see another OBGYN to find out what was going on. It was then revealed to me that not all of the endometriosis was removed. I was then put on a narcotic patch just so I could walk. I was told the leftover endometriosis could be treated by an injection and everything would work out. After receiving the injection and coming off of the pain patch, the pain hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't walk again and was bed ridden. Again I went back to May Grant and now this OBGYN said it was phantom pain and I should go to a pain clinic. I now had to move into my parents house so they could take care of me. My health rapidly started to decline and I ended up in NYC at an OBGYN that specialized in endometriosis and was immediately scheduled for emergency surgery. The endometriosis had advanced in stages and spread to other organs in my abdomen. It was so severe on my left ovary that it actually was twisting it. The specialist said there was an endometrial implant so big on my uterus that it was probably growing for ten years. He had to use scissors to excise all of the implants including on my colon. He was in disbelief that I had surgery and most of the endometriosis was left untouched. If I had doubted myself and allowed May Grant to convince me I was "making it up", I would have definitely needed a hysterectomy and if it progressed to stage IV it could have caused my organs in my abdominal cavity to "freeze" which is fatal. I wish, hope and pray other women will never have to be subjected to the treatment I received.

I have used May-Grant for two pregnancies and have been very very happy with everything they have to offer. My husband and I lost our first baby at 20 weeks, and the doctors and mid-wives at May-Grant were unbelieveable. I couldn't have made it through without thier support. Then with baby #2 on the way, I was a basket-case and they worked with me to calm my fears and help me to deliver a happy and healthy baby. Baby #2 was 5 weeks early and they were very hands-on and attentive to my needs. I have to say I am thrilled and will be using them again some time in the future!

To say, May-Grant Associates is a poor group of insulting, uncaring and harmful obgyn's is an understatement. I was insulted by several of the doctors in this practice to the point of inhumanity.
It is no wonder that their front desk receptionist is an expert in the Martial Arts, and that they have
Valet Parking-Security? at their front door. You don't see Valet Parking in any other wing of the Health Campus. Why is it legal for this group to give false information to patients, disguised as medical information? Educate youself at, hersfoundation, on the internet, before you make the same mistake I did when I confused this practice with medical care.

Pros: It looks like a doctors office

Cons: Find a new doctor

Please be forewarned that you will need to educate yourself before you enter this building. Although they have an attachment to the Lancaster General Health Campus, and have valet parking, I would strongly urge you to visit, hersfoundation, on the internet, to view the free educational video "Female Anatomy" before you step one foot in their door.

I started out with May-Grant at the 4th week of my pregnancy due to being high risk. I was left sitting the waiting room for over an hr the first appt then the med techs in the back were rude and seemed bothered. I felt uncomfortable after the first visit because I was told that I would be delivered by whoever was on-call even if I had never meet the person. My second visit was like the first only this time they couldn't even find my chart. I felt unsure and disappointed when I left. I wrote a letter to the office manager expressing my concern and she did call me but I choose to transfer my care to Eichenlaub & May and used Chri Gard, CRNMW for my delivery. The experience was wonderful. I do not recommend May Grant unless you have no other options. Sad because I am an RN to have to say that about a practice.

Dr. Melvin Habecker has been by doctor since 1999. He delivered my first child in February 2000 at the Women's and Babies Hospital, Lancaster, PA. Even though now I only see him on my annual visits he still keeps tabs on my goings on. He asks how my little one, now 6, is doing and if there is anything that is concerning me. He offers simple solutions to minor issues, and is always very courteous. Thank you for listening.

I used this practice for my first pregnancy and was not impressed. The practice was so big, I saw a different person almost each time and got different advice each time. I was not confident in the medical advice given to me and felt that I was not treated with respect. I would not trust them to deliver another child due to my lack of confidence in the people I dealt with.
