THIS IS MY OPINION: I am a patient of Dr. Wade's, and I can't say enough good stuff about this doctor. After receiving emergency treatment by him, I had to see one of his partners and got a rude awakening (See Dr. Manish Shah). Dr. Wade performed a penile aspiration on me one Saturday in the middle of the night at the ER in Boaz. He was very professional, and made sure that I was in as little pain as possible. When he introduced the drug into the shunt to stop the priapism my blood pressure spiked and I had a very dangerous reaction. My blood pressure spike extremley high, and I thought I was dying. I will never forget that Dr. Wade stayed with me, IN THE ROOM & BY MY BED, for about 3 hours that night to make sure I was going to be okay. Later on he was the doctor that I chose to insert a penile prosthesis. This surgery was done at Gadsden Regional. He and Dr. Chester Hicks inserted a Titan III Penile Prosthesis made by Coloplast. Dr. Wade made sure that I was well taken care of then, and continues to be the only urologist I choose to use. I had to have these things done due to a spinal cord injury, and I feel that Dr. Wade has and is the doctor that gave my wife and I our intimate relationship back. I still have to see Dr. Wade due to complications from the spinal cord injury, and after years of seeing him I can't say I've had ONE bad experiance with him or his staff. He accepts BCBS insurance, and I would recommend him to ANYONE!!!

I agree with Sam R. The review by George W.T. is an example of what's wrong with people in this country. A doctor goes out of his way to help someone he has never met on a week-end. He probably did it for free. He probable got called in the middle of the night. What does he get for his effort? A mediocre rating. Why would he ever help someone again? What are the chances George W.T. told Dr Wade he had blue cross anyway? Whatever he says, I don't have Blue Cross. I can tell you that Dr. Wade is the only doctor I have had that actually explains everything and I have nothing but good things to say, other than his office usually runs late seeing patients sometimes.

In regards to the previous review, how can you possibly form an opinion based on a single phone call? What was he supposed to do? You called him on a weekend when he was covering for your real doctor. He did not get a chance to see you or probably review your records. At least he tried to help you. I think he is a wonderful doctor. I can't say anything bad about my experience. If you have a vendetta against one his partners, don't take it out on Dr Wade. Since when is Dr Wade able to control your copay? That's ridiculous.

THe following is MY OPINION---

My only dealing with this urologist was a phone call to me on the week-end when I guess he was on call. I had just had a third FAILED Prostate operation by one of his colleagues and I needed something for bladder cramps. What he prescribed had about a $50 co-pay and after I got it, the operating urologist (MANISH SHAH) then told me to NOT take the rest of it and I believe proposed another drug instead.

NOTE ON OTHER POSTING----
I would think that a physician would know what was a preferred or non preferred drug on a Blue Cross policy, as that is what MOST of the patients are in Alabama...The comment from the other reviewer is based on HIS experience and my comment is based on MINE. If he is entitled to HIS opinion, then I am to mine as well....

NOTE AGAIN--I called on a weekend in the DAYTIME after an expensive operation so OF COURSE the person on call was or would be PAID....(My bill was in the thousands)......BLUE CROSS has about 80% of ALL contracts in Alabama so would you think folks in the medical field deal with them most of all? My rating was a 3 star-- that is SATISFACTORY-- NOT SUCKS, HORRIBLE, or some such.....You have your opinion and I have mine.....
