I am so happy with my vision after cataract surgery! I no longer depend on my glasses throughout the day. When I wake up in the morning I reach up but they are not there!!

Thank you Miami Lakes Eye Care Center!!

I went to this facility for an eye exam last Thursday, December 17, 2009.
After my insurance information was reviewed I was told to provide $20.00 copayment. I gave the office a check for $20.00 dated Friday, December 18, 2009.
This $20.00 check was never posted until January 8, 2010 with an additional return check charge of $25.00. There is no record on my bank for the check been posted on an earlier date than January 8, 2010 and there has been money in my account to cover it .
Are Miami Lakes Eye Center customer accounts compromissed by inescrupulous or inefficient billing agents?
Is this a common practice of this office for their patients?
I am currently posting a claim with my bank hoping to get my $25.00 back

Business Response:

Check #128 for $20 from Mr. E. G. was deposited by Miami Lakes Eye Care Center on 12/18/09 per his request. On 12/22/09, bank returned check #128 for "STOP PAYMENT". On 01/07/10, check #128 was again re-deposited, and full payment was collected, in addition to a $25 processing fee. Mr. E. G. never called prior to 1/8/10 to explain the reason for the circumstances. Mr. E. G., only called, to object to a noncollectable check processing fee. All this information was explained to Mr. E. G, in detail and a copy of the original bank statement showing "STOP PAYMENT" on his check was mailed to him for his verification. Mr. E. G. may indeed have a valid complaint with his bank but we unfortunately have no control over the $25.00 he was charged for recovery of payment. We hope that his claim with the bank is successfully resolved.

Check your bank account with these people they will make you pay twice.
I will never go back there again. After my check cleared in the amount of 170.00 for my daughters glasses. When I get there they said they have not been paid. After showing them proof of payment from my bank account they still did not give me the glasses. they said to pay the 170.00 again and when they run a report they will refund me the money. Yes, this is after I showed them proof of the check cashed and put into there suntrust account. My daughter has no glasses and I have file a Complaint with the BBB. To get my money back. I paid the glasses in full and my daughter does not have them. What kind of bussiness is this. Hopefully I can get my money back quick so I can take my 9yr old daughter to get glasses that she needs very urgent for school. And if you get your glasses there they take 3 to 4 weeks not 1-2 like they tell you.

Business Response:

Check #159 for $170 was given to Miami Lakes Eye Care Center on 8/27/10 by A.G. This check was returned for "INSUFFICIENT FUNDS" on 9/3/10. (A.G. has prior history of another bounced check with our office.) Check was presented for deposit again on 9/10/10. A.G. came to the office on 9/16/10 to pick up the eyeglasses. This was two weeks after the order was placed and days after being notified that the glasses were ready. She presented a copy of the SAME check which we had originally submitted for deposit on 8/31/10 as proof of payment. Because bank verification of check clearance was not yet available to us, we allowed A.G. to access her bank account and prove payment had cleared. Having done so, she became verbally abusive and profane. She then stormed out of the office without her daughter's glasses. Two days later we mailed the glasses to her at our cost and received proof of signature delivery signed by A.G.. Her claim then, that her daughter has no glasses is verifiably untrue. Had A.G. communicated her financial hardship, we would have been glad to work with her as we have with many other patients over the past twenty years we have been in practice.

I took my husband and son to see Dr. Batista for their eye exams because he?s an ophthalmologist and he was recommended by another eye doctor after they had a routine exam. The staff was very courteous and the waiting time was nil. Dr. Batista?s exam was thorough but quick and he was very attentive. The office is in a convenient location near the Palmetto Expressway so it?s pretty easily accessible.
