More about Michael C. Bruck, MD

Michael C. Bruck, MD, FACS is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The focus of Dr. Bruck’s practice is cosmetic (aesthetic) plastic surgery and includes a full range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. “Helping people look their best is a source of deep satisfaction that I never take for granted.” Dr. Bruck is renowned for his meticulous attention to detail and seeks perfection tempered within the framework of a natural appearance. “I’d rather not perform surgery than leave a patient with an unnatural look.” To meet the demands of patients wanting minimal downtime without compromising on outcome, Dr. Bruck has made a paradigm shift to accommodate their desires. “Wherever possible I tailor procedures to be less invasive by using a combination of complementary therapies. Supplementing minimally invasive surgery with injectables, fat transfer or laser treatments can yield remarkable results. From eyelid surgery to tummy tucks—two of his favorite procedures—or injecting fillers, Dr. Bruck enjoys creating a more youthful facial appearance or restoring a woman’s body and breasts especially after childbirth. Dr. Bruck is also seeing more professional men and women in consultation. The competitive nature of the current job market has further fueled non-surgical treatments such as fillers, Botox, and laser therapy. “There is greater emphasis on looking energized and youthful. It is no longer considered vain or self-indulgent for people to want to look their best.” Restoring and reshaping aging facial contours is one of Dr. Bruck’s specialties. He accomplishes this with either a patient’s own fat, Radiesse, a calcium based filler that adds volume, stimulates collagen production, and can be used to fill-in facial hollows, enhance cheek bones, camouflage puffy lower eyelids and add definition to the jaw line. Dr. Bruck also uses Sculptra Aesthetic which works to correct lost facial volume, shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds by replacing collagen as well as other fillers, based on the anatomic area and the patient’s goals. Patients spend a considerable amount of time in consultation with Dr. Bruck. Prior to making any recommendations, he listens carefully to the patient’s concerns. “Once I understand their goals, I can tailor the treatment plan to their objectives, tolerance for downtime and budget. Most patients are interested in weighing different options and the associated tradeoffs before making a decision. That’s why it is so important to explore both surgical and non-surgical treatments along with their feedback.” Dr. Bruck has been practicing for over 20 years and has built a well deserved reputation for having a thoughtful philosophy and conservative approach when it comes to enhancement. “Techniques are being perpetually refined and technology is constantly changing, but my commitment to certain core values will always remain the same. Competency, safety, character, integrity, and doing the right thing are part of who I am and how I treat every patient in my care.” After earning his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School Dr. Bruck completed his General Surgery training at New York University Medical Center and St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York. After his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in New York he completed a microsurgical fellowship in New Orleans. Dr. Bruck is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been featured on Good Morning America, The Learning Channel, CBS and ABC News where he was filmed performing facial reconstruction after skin cancer on ABC News anchor Michele Charlesworth. Dr. Bruck is a member of the Radiesse Medical Education Faculty and author of numerous publications.
