I have been bringing my son to Blue Ridge Ped. for nearly a year, and have no complaints about the rest of the staff, but Dr. Parrino is, in my opinion beyond his usefulness as a doctor. I have dealt with him on 9 occasions, and on each I have found the man to be dismissive, patronizing, and treated my son like an object rather than a child. Dr. Parrino makes snap decisions on diagnosis without listening to anything said to him, then he treated me like a child when I expressed concerns that the treatment recommended might not be what is needed. When handling my son, he is gruff and expects the child to cooperate with any contact without even a precursory greeting. I do not think my son needs to be handled with kidd gloves or treated like fragile crystal, but at least a little concern for the pain that is being inflicted or some sort of gentleness would be appreciated! Then the man has the nerve to act offended when the 3 year old whom he just made scream with pain does his best to exit the exam room as quickly as possible! Do your kids a favor and avoid this "Doctor".
