I'll break it down. After 6 years of taking my 3 children there.
appts for cleanings are fairly easy to make. they will lay your child down in a room with 5 other tables and no divisions. They will brush your child's teeth with a fancy toothbrush, the "doctor" will tell you how many fillings your child needs and send you home. Appts for fillings are over 2 months wait. Even if your child has a HOLE in her tooth. They will push for crowns, unnecessary fillings (confirmed after seeking 2nd opinion) and will have you come back over and over for follow ups that don't make sense. The staff is extremely rude and unhelpful, if you call with a question or concern- they will HANG UP ON YOU. The doctor is NOT child friendly and will talk to the parents as if they are ignorant bugs. They WANT to steal from your insurance. They will lie and tell you your child needs 7 8 9 cavities filled or have crowns put in when in fact they need NOTHING done. If your small child is hesitant to cooperate, they will have no patience for them and will SEND THEM AWAY with no treatments. They can't be bothered. SEEK OTHER DENTIST! save your child's teeth!!

I full heartedly agree with the majority of the above reviews. I have twice had devestating results from putting my trust into Cobbe Dental, both the U.S. 19 & Forest Street offices in N.P.R.. Ten years ago I took my son, barely 2 in to be seen because I could see the "white spot" sign of a begining cavity. They said don't worry about it. Took him in two months later because it was getting bigger, same thing. It will be fine.. all together took him seven times, every time paying cash for the visit. Within days of the last visit he fell and broke two of his teeth. They finally gave me a referral to take him somewhere else, to discover that he had to have SIX of his teeth pulled out!! I expressed my concerns to Cobbe himself about my son's speech development without his front teeth and asked about implants, and his response was, " Alot of my young patients have had their teeth pulled and are just fine", Perhaps if they had dealt with it sooner, these young patients, as well as my son could have kept their teeth.
Again, just two years ago I myself had a dental emergency, and their office was near my work so I went there. The first visit went alright, so I continued for several months of dental treatments. Two years later my fillings have fallen out and even the teeth with the fillings intact are falling apart, because they were not properly filled, or one that was filled when should have had additional treatment. I no longer have the same insurance that I did at the time, so I now have to live with broken and painful teeth. And to note, the teeth that they did not perform work on are just fine. In conclusion, I would urge everyone not trust them to treat your family, they have taken thousands of dollars from us just to destroy our teeth!! Also, the staff and dentist at the Forest office are rude, uncaring, take a whole five minutes to clean and diagnose the children (after waiting 45 minutes to get in) on top of the fact that the patients have no privacy whatsoever, there is at least six people sitting around while you are having your teeth done and the hygientist talks across the entire waiting room to give you the results. Very unproffesional.

I've been going to Cobbe Dental for several years and sometimes you do have to wait a while to be seen. But they are dealing with kids and every child needs different attention. I try to make appointments before 2 pm to avoid the after-school rush. I am grateful that I have a dentist that takes Medicaid and treats my kids just like any other.

If you enjoy a dental office ran by morons who know nothing about dentistry...go here. The doctors and staff are amazing but unfortunately it's ran by those who are more interested in lining they're own pockets than the overall moral of the staff and enabling good dentistry for children and adults

I am the parent of 5 children ages 17mo to 16yrs. I was very unhappy with the care received at Cobbe Dentistry. First, it takes all day to have your kids seen and if they need follow up work it can take months to get another appt. I also questioned the number of cavities they said my children had. When asked for them to show me on an x-ray, they could not. I truly feel this play should be shut down as they are scamming thousands from insurance companies for work that doesn't need to be done. How did my kids get 7 cavities in 6 months!! Come on now. And a parent should always be allowed to go with their child for any treatment!!! What are they hiding?

I have 4 children 7, 12, 14, and 17 all have been going to Cobbe dental for 10 years. Every visit I go to I get a different diagnoses. One year my 7 and 12 year old went to them and had no cavities both had their teeth sealed and six months later one had 5 cavities and the other had 7. How can this possibly be. My older two have multiple cavities and have had several fillings that never hold up and each procedure take multiple visits. They can never complete aprocedure in one visit there the problem continues to become worse. I feel that my children have been done a dissatisfaction and now suffering because of the work ethics. I currently looking for a new dentist. Hopefully its not to late.

I took my son here for 2 years and each visit seemed to get worse and worse.

First of all, we would always have the first dental appointment yet still have to wait 30 min or so before being called in. At my son's first appointment ( @3yrs old) the hygienist was very abrupt and just did not take the time to engage him at all. She did not explain anything to him and did not have the patience to address his questions and concerns. When they tried to do x-rays my son would gag on the film (he was only 3) and after about 15 minutes and much attitude she finally gave up trying to jam them into his mouth. This uncaring type of attitude did not improve with any subsequent visits.

Secondly, as a parent I am very concerned about the health of my sons teeth, and to add to that concern I am also a dental lab technician ( I fabricate dental restoration : crowns, etc). When I asked the dentist (Dr. Farah Amin - Cobbe) about my sons severe bruxing ( grinding his teeth) she showed no concern and said it wasn't a problem "b/c they are only baby teeth," she was still not concerned a year later when the occlusals surfaces of his teeth had dimpling and worn incisal edges. This is NOT OKAY even if they are "only baby teeth" !!!!!! A 4 yr old should never have this kind of wear on his teeth and to have the dr say not to be concerned is outrageous! Not only is it traumatic to the teeth but to the jaw and muscles of the face as well!

The final straw w/ this office was when they told me that my son had 3 cavities that needed to be filled. The Dr. looked at the x-rays and agreed that they needed to be filled. So like any good parent I made an appointment, and rearranged my schedule to bring him there. Only when we got there (and waited 45min) they had me sign the release, then they took him to the back room ( which they don't allow parents to accompy the kids to.. which is rediculous especially when the child is only 4!) then the same dr. who okayed the fillings the first time came out with the xrays and told me that they were so small that drilling on the teeth to fill them would actually cause more harm than to just leave them alone.

Not only had they wasted my time but remember: I had already filled out and signed all the paperwork for this procedure and I would bet my sons college fund that though they did not perform the fillings they still filed with and collected from my insurance company as though they had.

I also now know why you wait forever even w/ an appointment. Even though the pt. files are in order by appointment and time arrived, with my very own eyes I witnessed the hygenists pick through the stack of "patients to be seen" files and pick the "private insurance" patients before the "state insurance" patients - with no regard for who has been there for an hour and who has not.

I wouldn't recommend for anyone to visit this office. The only one there with any sense is the receptionist - I think her name is Sandy.

Cobbe Dental - I call shenanigans!

My daughter has gone to Cobbe Dental on Forest Ave NPR for the past 6 years, they said she had 3 cavities on one visit, we came back to have them filled and then they said she only had one? I asked if it was in a baby tooth or a permanent tooth and was told permanent, we found out later it was in a baby tooth as it fell out later, I would of never of had the tooth filled on a baby tooth when she was do to loose it soon, it was only a 1 surface cavity if it was that!. Later down the road we came in for our next 6 mo. ck up and she now has 5 cavities!! Well I took her for a 2nd opinion at Goff Dental on US 19 Port Richey, without telling them of the 5 cavities found at Cobbe dental, Goff said NO CAVITIES!!! Well how do you like that, I'm now trying to reach Ms Reavera G.M in Palm Harbor office to find out how this happened, I also talked to another person who goes to Cobbe and was told they had a lot of cavities as well!! I think Cobbe Dental needs to explain this!

My son is 4 and this was his second dental visit - first at cobb dental. The dentist was good and my son didn't like the 'buzzing' of the brush - so she brushed it manually. She was very firendly but we did have to wait over an hr for our appt and we were early! We ended up going in 1 1/2 hrs after our scheduled appt! strange....

PROS: friendly, somewhat!
CONS: long wait

My grandson broke his jaw last year. After a long year of healing he was finally able to open his moth wide enough to have his broken cracked and teeth repaired. The work they did was not good. One front tooth was repaired so badly it looked like he had a piece of gum stuck to his tooth. He had to go to another dentist to have the work fixed that cobbe dental did.
