I have never called in the morning and not been able to get in to see a doctor. I may not be able to see my primary physician (due to her not having any appointments on that day), but I am always given an appointment for the same day if I need to be seen. There are many residents in this practice, but they are all overseen by a group of faculty physicians, who also see patients during the week. I really like this set up, because you automatically are given a second opinion, as each resident physician must consult with a faculty physician before you leave the office. You may not have the same doctor for more than three years (because after the residency, they leave to set up their own practice or work elsewhere), but the faculty physicians are a constant, and if you have medical problems that you are seen for regularly, even if you do not see a faculty physician, they will probably know about your case because of the consult they do with the resident. Overall, a win-win situation for the patient and doctor, in my opinion - they give great care, and are among the best physicians I have had contact with.
