I graduated from MnTC five years ago. I was born and raised around drug addiction, and I was using drugs and committing crimes myself by the time I was 13. I spent my teenage years going in and out of juvenile centers and treatment programs. By the time I went to MnTC when I was 21, I was addicted to meth and had been convicted of multiple felonies.

I think the biggest difference between MnTC and other treatment programs is that MnTC take a more holistic approach to treatment. They teach you how to live. It was exactly what I needed because I didn't know. I didn't have any hobbies, no work experience, no friends who didn't use or sell drugs. MnTC taught me how to move through daily life without drugs. I learned how to be happy, angry, sad, lonely, or excited without getting high. For people who haven't struggled with addiction that may not mean much, but if you have been using for years, then you know that it does.

When I look at the quality of life of successful MnTC grads compared to successful grads of other treatment centers, I have to conclude that MnTC provides a better product. Beyond mere abstinence rates, most of the MnTC grads that I know have gone on to live full, rewarding lives. We get to the point where we forget about our "sobriety birthday," and quit thinking about staying sober. Drugs just lose their power in our lives. Having spent a significant amount of time in (court-ordered) 12 step meetings, I know that MnTC grads stand in stark contrast to 12 step group members whose lives revolve around trying to stay sober.

I recently graduated from college and I start grad school this fall. I have a great relationship with my family, and I am planning to start a family of my own soon. NA defines an "addict" as someone whose life is controlled by drugs. By that definition, I'm not an addict. I am a student, a son, a brother, and, soon I hope, a husband and father. I have no choice but to attribute most of my success to what I learned while in MnTC.

Don't be decieved by the name, MN Teen Challenge is for Adults & Teens. They are one of the largest and most succesful residential treatment centers in Minnesota. They have both short term and long term recovery program options. I know first hand that MN Teen Challenge works. I've had one family member graduate and a few friends. They are all still sober and living happy productive lives. It's just crazy to see the positive transformation that takes place here. So many people have their kids back, parents back, spouses back, because of what they got out of MN Teen Challenge. It seems that you get something there that you can't get anywhere else. It's awesome. I would recommend MN Teen Challenge to anyone who is either struggling with addiction or knows someone that is. With such a high success rate; chances are that this could be their last treament center!

Teechallenge is an amazing program. My brother graduated from there last month 3/23/11. after countless times at other programs, jail, doctor visits, and meds. He has been sober for over 2 years now thanks to the amazing staff and support they give. through the faith based program anything is possible. My teen daughters and I gained so much from all the services and worship they offer to the families. It is so touching the support and love that pours out of that place. I highly reccomend it to anyone struggling with any kind of addiction. Do not give up on life untill you have given teenchallenge a fair shot to help you change your life. These people truly genuinely care about you. I also like that they have so much to offer after you gradate. Fantastic programs and support system to keep you sober and moving forward to a better sober life.

This place is worthless. They don't pray for you; they pray "ON" you. It's ridiculous. They use guilt to break you down instead of positive reinforcement that you are a good person who is ill. They make you feel like a bad person. If you aren't christian, don't even bother looking at this hell-hole. In fact, if you are a true christian, don't bother looking either. The 12 Steps, you know, the program that has helped millions of people recover, is not really acknowledged by TC, but in essence, they are using the first 3 steps and the 12th step more than they would like to admit. They give no credit to programs that work, but they use them. Ironic? They don't believe in medicine. If you're withdrawing from benzodiazapines or alcohol, you could die there. According to them, God is the only way to recover. Yeah, that's in the spirit of AA, NA, and all the other 12 step programs that actually WORK. If you stay sober, it will only be because you were imprisoned for a year and your brainwash was complete. If you're looking for a REAL treatment center, check out Hazelden or Brighton, where they won't make you feel like an outcast, in the treatment center or in life. In the big book, it says that your perception of God doesn't matter as long as you believe in one. At TC, if you don't believe in the Protestant Christian God, you have no hope. Wow! AA has recovered everyone that wanted it, really wanted it. Why change something that's not broken?

My daughter is an addict and alcoholic and skipped out of numerous treatment facilities in the past. MN Teen Challenge is the ONLY one where she walked in the door and truly felt like the staff and other residents cared about her. They view her as an individual person and recognize that not everyone responds to treatment in the same way. She has grown and changed so tremendously and we have our daughter back! I can't say enough good things about this organization! GOD BLESS the staff members and volunteers who give their time so generously to help people in desperate need!

If anyone has ever had a loved one with an addiction, or had or have an addiction themselves--- This place is where you need to go for help.

They have an AMAZING success rate! Although it is faith based, being a christian is not required for help. They do recognize, however, the power of God's love and healing in helping people rehabilitate.

They have intensive residential programs designed for Men, Women, and Teens-- the ONLY one in the country to have facilities for all of those! They assist in education-High School and college, job training, counseling, medical care and whatever else is needed.

They have so many resources to help and they are really nice and professional--Highly recommend.
