.

I think Neva is caring and sweet, but I have felt somewhat put aside in my personal experiences. I've found it difficult to book an appointment with her (I'm generally encouraged to see a PA instead), her office staff has limited phone hours, and I'm always put on hold by the office staff when I call. Every time I've been in there it seems like the phone is constantly ringing and they're putting everyone on hold. I can pretty much expect that it will be more than a week until I can see her when I try to make an appointment.

She asks good questions and is very understanding, but at one point she basically said she didn't know what to do for me (in regards to my energy issues), and she would not refer me to an endocrinologist despite a family history of thyroid issues. Now, a few years later, I'm almost certain my problem is in fact a thyroid problem. She seems somewhat like she's in a hurry.

I feel like she cares a great deal, but doesn't have enough time or staff to really take the time and effort with each person, at least with mysterious illnesses like mine. She does explain things well and definitely seems to be knowledgeable.

She's religious, so don't go to her if you want birth control, sterilization, abortion, etc. I'm a young adult female who wants to be sterilized, so that doesn't really work for me.

I'll probably switch doctors. It's not because I feel she's a bad doctor, I think she is kind, gentle, and fairly thorough, but I don't feel she has the time for someone like me who needs "detective work," and I am put off by the difficulty of getting an appointment and calling her office.
