Dr. Myers is professional, knowledgeable with an outstanding bed-side manner. I have been a patient for over 10 years and still find her generous with her time and always willing to share her medical knowledge to enhance the patient's quality of life.

Dr. Myers is the best endocrinologist in the bay area. I have a tricky thyroid problem and she has always returned my calls and took the time to meet with me when I had issues. My issues have been with some of her staff when they were changing around and they didn't follow up. Ann always has and will continue to do so.

I think Dr. Myers rocks! She always listens to me and has been very supportive when I've had issues with my diabetes. I don't remember ever having an issue with getting ahold of her when I need something. She goes above and beyond. She is extremely caring, empathetic, and human. Some doctors lack that touch. I would go out of my way to make sure I have health insurance that is accepted at her office.

Doctor Myers has been my physician now for many years. She first began to see me at a time when I was critically ill. She is caring, dedicated and an excellent doctor. I credit her with helping to save my life as I was going through a very difficult time. She calls in person to provide test results and has always been responsive. You will not find a finer endocrinologist.

I must respond here to the negative review of Dr. Myers. I have hypothyroidism in conjunction with a chronic illness so it makes my case a complicated one to deal with. Dr. Myers has been excellent, very attentive, able and caring and wanting to hear about me as a whole person. I am sorry that others have not had a good experience, but I have had experiences with a lot of docs including other docs who have REALLY messed up my thyroid issues and Dr. Myers really stands out as an excellent physician.

To give you a brief background, I'm a young professional here in San Francisco and I've only ever had to visit a general practitioner until about 6 months ago when I was told that I had might have a thyroid issue. As a young, healthy individual I was extremely concerned and decided to visit a specialist. Dr. Myers met me once and put me on the middle level (not lowest) of medication despite the fact that my first test result showed that I was just slightly out of range and a second test a few weeks later showed that I was within the range. It took me 4 weeks to get the results despite the fact that I called her office 2 times a day for about 2.5 weeks. I started having some symptoms of which I had none previously and she told me to take half and we'd retest. It's now been 4 weeks and she hasn't contacted me; I'm hoping that no news is good news, but it's really scary that a doctor can be so passive and unresponsive. I feel that because my condition might not be as serious as other patients that I get to take the backseat. While I realize it may not be serious to her, it's VERY serious to me and I'm really stressed and will look for a different doctor soon. I'm only writing b/c I would hate for anyone to have a similar experience the first time that they ever need to see a specialist.

Dr. Meyers is the best Doctor I have ever seen (other than Dr. Razzel) She is so personal and so smart and so responsive...I really can't say enough about her. I am a type 1 diabetic and have a lot of stomach issues. She is never too busy to take my calls (even on a Sunday) and she is never too busy to come and check on me when I am in the hospital. If you can get in to see her, DO IT...she is crazy good and is crazy smart! She is like a second mom....

I rang ahead to Dr Myer's office when I made my appointment to say exactly what I was going in for. When I got there, she listened to my symptoms, then said, "let's increase your medication by 50% and see how that goes, and we'll talk on Monday and review, and by then I'll have your test results". I asked if there's anything else I should know about the situation I was in, and she said "No, I need to review my material." She hadn't prepared for my appointment!

She didn't call the whole next week, and when I called back she didn't know what lab results I was talking about, and asked whether I wanted my results or to know if I should *do* a lab test. I said I wanted the results, and she told me my vitamin D was deficient. And I said, "what, didn't you do electrolytes?", and she said, oh, I don't see these here.... oh here they are, the're normal. She didn't ask how my 50% increase in medication was going. She obviously doesn't track her patients or look after you very well.

She's OK as long as you're coasting and know how to look after your own condition (I have Addison's disease), but for anything out of the ordinary I would avoid her.

Doctors have a tendency not to explain things to you in plain English. Dr. Myers does! Friendly doctor, makes you feel at ease. Very attentive. Easy access to the hospital by public transportation.

If you are looking for a very qualified and wonderful endocrinologist then Ann Myers is the person to see. She has a specialty in diabetes, but treats patients with any pathology related to the endocrine system. What I really appreciate about Dr. Myers is that she wants to know who her patients are. She actually cares about the narrative of you life and she integrates that information into her treatment plan and approach toward the care she offers you. My appointments with her are less about my blood sugar numbers than about how I'm doing in general with my self-care around my diabetes. She's a very qualified physician and so when it comes to hard clinical knowledge, she's got that in spades.
