If you look at the site Healthgrades you can see that Dr. Punjabi has had some problems in some other states. I went there because he professes to be a hormone specialist. He DOUBLED my thyroid medication and after taking it for a month I had some very severe symptoms that I realized were from being overmedicated. As soon as I stopped taking double the amount my symptoms slowly went away. I called his office right after I realized what was happening and talked with his receptionist about it. I needed his advise of what I should do because I'd never gone through anything like that before. She said she would tell the Dr. to call me. He never called. After I felt better, I called him and asked why he never called and told him about the severe problems I had experienced. He was very nonchalant and said what had happened was perfectly normal. He sounded like he didn't know what he was doing.
Like a few other reviews listed here, he always came in with a book, or an armful of products that he sold in the office, and it was just added to the bill. He doesn't seem very legitimate to me and frankly I'm scared to go back in.

Never busy and never a long wait. The assistant is as pleasant and efficient as can be. Dr Punjabi is the kind of guy you really want to like, the kind of guy that shakes your hand when he enters the room. However after you have seen him a few times his practices wear thin. My first 3 trips he proceeded to proscribe my blood pressure pills in 1 month increments. Of course my insurance will not pay for a maintenance drug purchased at the corner Walgreen's beyond twice. On visit number 3 despite my protestations about needing a longer term prescription, he told me I needed to come back again next week so he could see how it was doing. This as my BP reading was 110/80 and this specific prescription I had been taking for years.

I have been patient for 8 years and got treatments for Allegy -Asthma -
blood pressure -Weight -Cholestrol. What impressed me explaing each
medicine prescribed with all plus points but with cautionary side effects.
He gives lot of stress on weight ratio and body fat control and lung air capacity Diet control , Exercise and selection is must for him beside treatments. I maintain good balance with his checkups and help.
I recommend him for total health maintenance and Allergy Asthma treatment.

PROS: Matuarity & Availability
CONS: Busy

If I had not been so desparate to get weight loss pills I would not of thought twice about getting up and walking out of this doctors office. Each time I went in for an appointment I was made to wait for over an hour when it was obvious that the office was not busy and I had made an appointment. Several times I saw and heard the doctor standing at the nurse/receptionist station chatting away about non work issues while I and others were waiting. Once I got to the patient room I ended up waiting even more. It was ridiculous that each time I had to wait for so long. Personally I feel like the weight loss pills perscriptions were handed out fairly easily without much consultation or testing, but at the time that is what I wanted.

PROS:
CONS: Long Wait!
